"Great Buddhist landmark celebrating the Japanese immigrants. Worth the trip to see Buddha’s statue and just walk around and relax. EDIT: Post fire. From what I gather these beautiful grounds were lost in the Maui fire. I am sad, but hope they will rebuild."
"I feel like this is a hidden gem in Lahaina. It's so beautiful, serene and inspiring. Also love visiting the Farmer's Market every other Thursday here."
"Peaceful, beautiful, and soothing. Signs of history are all around the grounds. It is nestled squarely between a residential area, old cemetery, and public beach. Respect is important all around when visiting here."
"Very peaceful when we went first thing in the morning. Pretty statues, pagoda & temple but not much more to it - can't complain though! Left offering as thanks. Nice beach right next door."
"A short walk from the beach, the Buddha pagoda and statue were quite nice. The atmosphere is quiet and serene. Good for some peace and quiet and also some meditation if you will. The place has a spiritual aura to it. If you're in the area, it's worth to make a stop here. The 12 foot tall copper and bronze statue of Amida Buddha is the largest of its kind located outside of Japan. It was completed in June 1968 as commemorative project for the Centennial Celebration of the first Japanese immigrants to arrive in Hawaii."
