"If you want a great afternoon that involves a beautiful adventure to a waterfall. Rainbow kayak tours has it ready for you. We went on this tour and it was one of the best I've been on while traveling. We were greeted by our amazing guide and jungle queen Annie. She was the friendliest person I've met in a long time. She gave us great information about the tour and what to expect. The tour itself was kayaking up the Wailua river, it was relaxing and not difficult. After we reached the docking area we hiked for about an hour to the waterfall. Annie stopped to give breaks and to talk about the area. The hike has some areas that involved climbing but they are navigable. Once we reached the waterfall we were provided with homemade turkey sandwiches which my kids claimed to be the best sandwiches they have ever had and fresh fruit. Annie also helped with taking photos and telling stories. I highly recommend this adventure with Rainbow Kayaking. They are a small business on the island and make you feel like family."
"Amazing experience! Annie was an awesome guide and kept us laughing the whole time. It was my first time kayaking so I was a little nervous about the distance required but it was surprisingly easy. Beautiful trail and gorgeous waterfall. 10 out of 10 would love to do it again!"
"We had a blast! Anne was our guide and she had the best personality, lots of knowledge to share along the way and really brought the group together with her jokes and funny stories along the hike. Would highly recommend this tour, absolutely beautiful views the entire time."
"We had an excellent adventure on the afternoon Wailua River Paddle and (not so) Secret Waterfall Hike. My husband and I are experienced kayakers and were hoping to paddle separately, but they only offer doubles. Fortunately, our marriage survived the trip anyway. We started out with a short van ride from the storefront to the marina were we selected our boat and headed out for an easy paddle upstream, maybe 30minutes. Along a shallow bend in the river, we parked the Kayaks and began the hike. I recommend sturdy, secure waterproof shoes as there are a few deep river crossings. Unless you're a local like our guide, Reese, who did the entire adventure in his bare feet. Reese was an excellent guide and gave us lots of information about the history, geography, flora and fauna of the region. Once we reached the waterfall destination, Reese set up a picnic space, cut up some fresh fruit, served up premade sandwiches, and offered to take everyone's photos. We spent a little over an hour at the swimming hole before packing up, and heading back out the same way we came in - back through river crossings, hiking on the trail, paddling back down the river to the Marina, and riding the van back to the storefront. The January morning was overcast, so we were glad to have reserved the afternoon session. We had a fun time and would highly recommend this tour."
"Allen (our Guide), was a great host and shared a lot of local history and botanical knowledge on the hike portion of the tour. The paddle in and out was beautiful and relaxing with little or no current. The waterfall at the end of the hike was about 120’ high with a great pool to take a dip in. I highly recommend this tour and have nothing negative to say about it."
