"Amazing and beautiful. We did the self-guided walking tour and enjoyed about 2-3 hours of Hawaii nature. There are lots of places to sit and enjoy the many relaxing spaces. Highly recommend buying the $1 bag of bird seed as this was my teenage children's favorite part. My kids encourage buying several bags of bird seed, but we may have never left if we did. They hand fed chickens, zebra doves, ducks, peacocks, and a variety of baby birds. One of our trip's most enjoyable experiences, and I highly recommended it for all ages. At only $10 per person, Smith's Tropical Paradise is also a budget friendly experience."
"We missed out on booking a tour of world-famous Allerton Gardens so we pivoted and headed here. I could not be more pleasantly surprised by this little gem! The riverboat tour to the fern Grotto was great for kids and my elderly FIL (who could not have navigated the dirt paths at Allerton in his wheelchair), and the garden there has so many birds (which you can feed) amazing views, and the staff are all friendly. Highly recommend!"
"Best luau on the island! This is my third luau on Kauai and the others pale in comparison. If you are looking for a Hawaiian cultural experience, with explanations followed by a full theater experience where the many cultures that have influenced the islands are celebrated, then this is the place for you. The food was excellent. You get to watch the unearthing of the pig (oma) then enjoy him and several of his friends on the buffet line. Many food choices and six buffet lines so it went quickly. Full drink menu included alcohol and soda. Wonderful staff filling and refilling coffee and water. I am vegan, and one of the staff brought me a special dinner of tofu stir-fry. All of the buffet dishes were clearly marked and there were several vegan dishes there as well (not just the poi!). Entertainment while you eat, then the grand show at an open air theater. Totally awesome. My grandson was suitable impressed by the show with fire and lights, drums and dancers. Not to be missed!"
