"I wanted to keep chairs that have been in the family since childhood, 50 years. This meant that they needed to be reupholstered as they had seen their better days. I stripped the wooden surfaces and resurfaced them myself, then sought out an upholstery company. I chose Green Valley Upholstery because of their long history in the community... maybe 30 years. I was advised to save cost by bringing in my own fabric. That worked for me as I was headed to L. A. anyhow. A trip to the garment district enabled me to get beautiful fabric at $10 per yard vs $49! It took several weeks to pick up my chairs because apparently there was more work to be done than either of us anticipated once the old fabric was removed. But I wasn't charged any extra labor cost! My patience paid off! Words cannot express how pleased I am with the outcome of my mother's chairs! If you need to reupholster anything, give them a call. They do beautiful work and will give you tips as to how to save money in the process."
