"the girls at the front desk are racist, rude & snobby. I brought in a bag full of brand new items with tags from Fashion Nova jeans, jackets, sweaters. With a bunch of sunglasses in boxes from my online boutique they had the nerve to tell me there inventory for these items are full. I could tell they never even took items out the bag… but the girl who came behind me who of course was white had a bag of old dingy things and they accepted her items. I won’t be returning. Sad you have individuals like this working in your establishment."
"I bought some Jordan’s from here and they weren’t the expensive kind, only costed $50. However they were painted to hide stains that revealed a few times after wearing them. I wouldn’t trust buying Jordan’s from them since they are most likely tampered with and will eventually lose whatever paint they had. Besides that experience, it’s hard to find something good at a reasonable price. I’d rather buy from other second hand stores that do not charge $7 for an old run down t-shirt."
"waste of time trying to sell anything to this establishment. I was told they were only taking trendy clothes, such shorts, etc. I brought all the trendy clothes they mentioned and they were expensive brand, yet they didn't take anything after 1 1/2 hr wait. by the way, it was only about 10 pcs and still took them this long. So my question is, do these kids decide what's trendy?. Never again. I can easily sell these clothes online and get a lot more money. or just donate them instead of wasting my time."
"This isn’t my first time selling to this location and each interaction seems to go lower in my experience. Customer service is just poor & unfriendly. I always check online to see if what I’m bringing in is what they’re looking for in hopes of selling most of the clothes I’m lugging in. All of which is washed, fairly new & brand name. Just not a friendly place to go & waste time at."
"DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING TO SELL HERE. And in that case don’t bother buying either. Customer service here is terrible. I drove 20+ minutes to sell 10-15 articles of clothing (most of which I bought within the last 1-2 years and have just never worn, therefore most of the clothes are in great condition) just to spend less than two minutes in store. This is the recap of the interaction ALL IN LESS THAN TWO MINUTES of being in the store: I walk in, no greeting from anyone at the counter other than “are you selling?” I say “yes” to which I’m asked “what do you have?” I explain I have sweaters, long sleeves, some skirts and overalls. I’m told “we’re not taking any of the that, we’re only taking what’s on the board (points to a hand- written white board that isn’t very clear to read) and we’re only taking active wear “. I explain online says you take all clothes all year round. I’m told that’s because people think they take furniture… Um,ok? The associate says I can “take a picture of the board for future reference”, which makes no sense if you all seem to just change the board whenever you want, so those items are likely not going to be the items you’re looking for in ”the future”. Then I ask “so does that mean you won’t even look at what I brought in?” The associate says “I mean, I can…” I said “not if you’ve already decided without looking that you’re not going to buy anything“ and leave. What is the point of advertising yourself as a second-hand retailer who accepts all seasons of clothes all year long but then met with the third-degree WITHOUT even looking at the clothes and being told they’re ONLY looking for ACTIVEWEAR all in less than 2 minutes of setting foot in the store? This is the only Plato’s Closet I’ve had this happen at (I’ve shopped and sold at Plato’s Closets in Southern California). Icing on the cake: she’s giving me third degree of the clothes I brought in, which were all washed, on hangers and in nice garment bags while she’s rummaging through a GARBAGE BAG OF CLOTHES…. A GARBAGE BAG. This place does not want to spend money on what they say they’re looking for but is more than happy to overprice clothes to get customers to spend."
