Reviews
"Rude, Arrogant, overpriced, and don’t like how he comes after everyone who has a bad experience with him. Look at the way he responds to every negative review! They are all mistaken and have their facts wrong. I was there several years ago, and the quote he gave me was a joke. I went elsewhere…!!! Now Ted will say, “who is this” so he can dispute what I just said… we are all mistaken to TED"
"I have been a client of RAGS for fourteen years, and had been a happy customer for the most part. However, Ted’s rudeness is inexcusable regardless of his competence. Because of his ugly attitude towards a friendly and loyal customer, he is no longer taking care of my cars."
"NEVER AGAIN!!! I took my wife's E350 to Ted and asked him to fix the left front turn signal, put two screws in the rear license plate and change the oil. $563 plus change, and only the oil had been changed plus things that were not on the list or a safety issue had been done. Things like replacing the cabin air filter and other things not on the list, still no working turn signal and no screws in the license plate. Ted told us that the car needed thousands and thousands of dollars worth of work, he said "Front rims are bent and tires are junk". Ted was nice enough to drop the car off and Goodyear Tires for us. Goodyear checked the rims, NOT bent and replaced the tires. After tire replacement drove the car 100 plus miles home with no trouble. Once home I started checking Ted's Inspection Notes and found none of them to be correct. I have been working on cars and motorcycles for over 53 years and yes German cars too."
"I have owned a Porsche Boxster for nearly 3.5 years and whenever I needed something done on this car that requires something more than basic skills I rely on Ted. When I first met Ted I was greatly impressed by his honesty and being so upfront. He would say he did not like the boxsters since he considered them to very fragile and unreliable cars (Ted, if I am saying something wrong it is without any bad purpose). I was asking him about a preventive, unofficial very expensive preventive work. While other mechanics in the area would greatly recommend that several thousand operation, Ted approach seemed to me very honest "Why do you want to spend so much money on something that you have no indication is going to happen and which is not even done by the Porsche company?". Same kind of situation happened when I was thinking about changing the springs and strouts... rather than Ted signing up for this expensive labor he suggested just replacing the already consumed tires, and checking improvements: that worked. . In summary, his attitude reflects very clearly to me that he is never trying to make any amount of $$$ on totally unnecessary works on your car. That, to me, is a truly indication of honesty and, BTW, my 20 year old car is running pretty well taking into consideration its age and that every now and then it requires some care."
"I am a new Porsche owner. I have had work done at RAGS and have found Ted to be helpful and patient in explaining ... well... just about everything to a newbie like me which is amazing since he has a lot of work to get to. He takes the extra time, does good work and is reasonably priced for my beer budget. Oh and did I mention kind? Thank you for being my mechanic. I will never take my car to anyone else! Looking forward to the next appointment that keeps this "vintage" Cayenne flying on the road!"
