"It was a really heartbreaking and frustrated experience we had with Impact Auto! If you are potential shoppers looking for a capable and trustworthy mechanic, you may want to read about our story before deciding whether you want to bring your daily vehicle here! Waited two weeks, spent close to $1600, the car drove worse than we first brought it in!! Like many folks, we had an old car. We drove the car for the past one plus years with engine light on with no problem. We originally bought the car into Impact Auto suspecting transmission issues. They said they didn’t do transmission but they could help us evaluate and identify the problem. Throughout our conversation with Ruby, she sounded very sincere and considerate, so we trusted her instead of our own intuition. She first said it might be the catalytic converter problem. But before fixing the problem, she suggested us testing the engine to make sure it was still good, which made sense and we did it. The result showed that the engine looked pretty good. That was the first hope Ruby gave us. Then it was up to us if we wanted to spend $1000 to fix the catalytic converter. It was definitely a hard decision. I double checked with Ruby if she was sure fixing the catalytic converter was going to solve the power problem they identified. And she said, “Yes, very possibly. But there were other issues with the car.” I knew the car had other issues. I wasn’t expecting them to fix every problem, but the predominating issue they identified. So I asked her again “Are you sure it can solve the power issue?” Ruby said “Yes, I am pretty sure it will give the power back.” That was the second hope she gave us. And we fixed the catalytic converter. After that, Ruby called us saying it drove a bit better, but they suggested replacing the throttle body from the shifting issues they identified. Doing so would make it drive much better. That was the third hope she gave us. At this point, we thought “Yes, we are getting close to have a drivable car again.” So we asked them to do the oil change and transmission fluid change as well. We waited another one week for them to change the throttle body and fluids, ONLY to have Ruby called us and said, “I’m sorry guys, there is transmission issue. The engine code just came up showing transmission issue. You still probably won’t be able to drive the car uphill.” “Puff,” all the hope that Ruby had given us bursted into ash. How desperate, heartbreaking and frustrated we were hearing Ruby’s last call!! We are a regular working family of four living in Kona barely making ends meet each month. A driving vehicle was our lifeline. We not only wasted $1600, plus $600 to rent a car for two weeks, but also had to go through this stressful emotional roller-coaster, to eventually end up with an even worse driving car!!! I don’t know if they were intentionally giving us false illusions or they were just not adequate, but THINK TWICE before you bring you car here!!"

"Best in the Business... you never know what you will get with a mechanic, there is always a seed of doubt if you are getting the straight information. NOT at Impact Auto. I took my truck into them with starting issues and A/C issues. They had it fixed in just a few hours, for HUNDREDS of dollars less than I thought. They performed a full inspection on my vehicle and made suggestions for maintenance... some items they suggested sooner than other. It was Honest, it was Helpful, it was exactly what you want in a Mechanic. I will be using their service in the future and will be telling everyone about them! 5 STARS!"
