"I wanted to warn folks about Subaru Dealership here in Las Vegas. I bought a brand new Subaru in 2016 and it came with free oil changes for life! I gave it to my daughter because it is a safe car and was looking to buy another one! Yesterday, my kid took it in for one of those free oil changes. Subaru reported that the passenger side axle boot was leaking and they would fix it for $800; the driver's side was about to start leaking. She told them not to do anything, we would take to my mechanic. We picked it up and drove to my honest mechanic. My honest mechanic, C and F Automotive on North Decatur near Smoke Ranch, put the Subaru on a lift. He showed us the axle boots. The passenger side has a tiny leak - a brand new one - that could not of been there more than a day. The part was clean, except for a tiny amount of fluid. The driver's side looked fine. When I looked at the axle boot I wondered how would you even tell if it was going to leak? Subaru tried to charge my hard working daughter more than $800 for a repair that was not needed. C and F Automotive continues to care for our cars; I've been a customer for 18 years. Without them, I would have paid Subaru thousands in unneeded maintenance over the years."
