"My wife and I were traveling home on the second leg of our 2600 mile trip when our car experienced catastrophic engine failure around 75 miles NW of Vegas. We were rescued from the desert and taken to Parallax Automotive, where our experience began with this business. After the diagnostics, it was determined our car needed another engine. I was quoted the cost of two different engines that we readily available if I decided to go that route. After considering my options...I chose to replace the engine. There were several "snags" during the process stemming from the engine supplier. I was informed of every issue that arose and given the solution that Parallax was executing. Okay, an already long story shorter, Sam and the crew there installed a total of THREE engines until they got the job completed. Extra work on the engine was needed to ensure our car's repair met our expectations. This included new spark plugs, fuel filter, catalytic converter on the rear bank, ignition coils and a timing set to sort out some issues. I am confident that no aspect of engine replacement was overlooked. It took quite a bit longer than expected, but we could not be happier with the results. For a relatively small cost, we now have a rejuvenated vehicle that will continue to serve us well into the future. The delays were not in Parallax's control and were very taxing for all. Sam was upfront with every aspect of the process and easy to communicate with. After taking our car to them and deciding to get it repaired, my wife and I returned home. Sam kept us informed and kept assuring me he would fix our car. Believe me, he was true to his word! I picked the car up and drove it 1000 miles home. "As we turning into our street, the power steering failed, heard slight grinding noise and the red engine warning light illuminated. Since we were approximately 100 feet from our garage, we continued into our garage. Called the warranty company and Sam/Parallax Automotive was an approved shop. Had car towed and Sam diagnosed and completed the steering problem (gasket on main fan belt pulley/crankshaft had deteriorated) _ car is a 22 year old small Chevy SUV. Since he already had the car, I requested he look at the brakes and shocks - the brakes had just started making a little noise occasionally and I knew the shocks were shot too. He came back and confirmed the my suspicions but surprised me when he said that if it was his car- he would hold off on the rear brakes as they did not need replacement yet! He also serviced the A/C and when we drove away - felt like a new car! I most highly recommend Sam and Parallax - professional, efficient, polite and honest!"
