If you have to wait, it's probably because there is another vehicle in front of you being inspected. Results are usually with the DMV every time by the time I get home, ~15 minutes. Allowing me to renew my registration on the DMV website. Staff has been friendly and chatty every time, even if the inspection takes only a few minutes."
