"Nice and quiet, there's the lake of course, some picnic tables, and a decent sized mowed grassy area. In the grassy area there are several large cottonwood trees that provide shade. It's surprisingly peaceful considering it's right on the corner of 86th and Penn"

"Lower Penn Lake is a fabulous Lake in Bloomington off Penn Avenue. You can go fishing take a walk around the park they have a little gazebo that you can have a little picnic there if you choose and overall they have a point in the lake that have two benches built in that are nice to sit and just gaze over the water. Such a beautiful place!"

"A pretty nature spot for having a little picnic lunch amidst a suburban neighborhood. There are no real trails to walk round the small lake but a few pleasant picnic places and a boat launch for canoers, etc. The lake is more of a large pond though in reality."

"The park is very small, and when we got there the smell of cannabis was overpowering, thanks to three "youths" down by the vacant boat ramp. The water in the lake is murky and thick, and even after an hour of attempting to catch fish from a grassy penninsula down the way, not even a hint that there is much life in the lake. Pretty enough surroundings, but close to nothing useful in the way of recreation."
