Dreamland Ballroom 800 West 9th Street, Little Rock, AR 72201
About the Business
Dreamland Ballroom, located at 800 West 9th Street in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a historic institution housed within The Taborian Hall, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Friends of Dreamland, a non-profit organization formed in 2009, is dedicated to preserving the rich history of this once-thriving African American business district known as "The Line."
The Taborian Hall has been a cornerstone of the African American community in Little Rock for over a century, serving as a hub for religious, fraternal, economic, and entertainment activities. With the support of grants from the U.S. Department of the Interior and National Park Service, the Friends of Dreamland have been able to undertake restoration projects to make the Dreamland Ballroom accessible to all, including those with disabilities.
In addition to hosting public events, the Dreamland Ballroom is also the subject of a documentary produced by Arkansas PBS, offering a glimpse into the vibrant history of Little Rock's West 9th Street. A book titled "Temple of Dreams: Taborian Hall and its Dreamland Ballroom" by Berna J Love further explores the Ballroom's storied past.
Visitors to the Dreamland Ballroom can also explore the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, dedicated to preserving and celebrating African American history and culture in Arkansas. Donations to the Friends of Dreamland are tax deductible, as the organization works tirelessly to uphold the original intent of Taborian Hall and share the legacy of Dreamland Ballroom with future generations.

Reviews
"Historical & welcoming place. Loved the presentation for Dr. King, giving me information that's not typically talked about pertaining to him. The networking afterwards was an added bonus. Almost everyone in attendance were entrepreneurs and leaders. This was my first experience at the Dreamland Ballroom but I will be back."
"Lets just say we had a ball"
"Wonderful historic building. African American History"
"There is so much history here! Ella Fitzgerald, B.B. King and Ray Charles have all played here at the pinnacle of their careers. There is an energy here that has to be experienced to be believed. This is the last of the original buildings that made up Little Rock's black business district of the early 20th century. This building has a soul, and Kerry has done a fantastic job of keeping that soul alive."
