Embassy Suites by Hilton Minneapolis Downtown 12 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55402

"I stayed 6 nights in the Embassy suites during a work trip in early March. It was fine, but would I have to come back to the area, I might look into another hotel. As for the pros, the location was very convenient, walkable and it was easy to go out get food, coffee or whatever. The breakfast was great (especially omelets made-to-order). The rooms were clean. As for the cons, I must say I thought it was subpar compared to what I was expecting from this chain of hotels. In particular, room cleaning services didn't come 2 out of the 5 days I was there. Yet I was very little interfering with their duties since I was usually away around 8.30am and coming back after 6pm. I consider having fresh towels, clean beddings and empty trashes essential services for a hotel of this caliber, so I was quite surprised that it was such a hit-or-miss. The free internet provided by the hotel for its guess was completely impractical for me, even to check emails. I therefore had to request their paid "fast internet". It was fast when working, yet connecting to the network was a quite frustrating experience. My devices (laptop and a phone basically) would randomly disconnect, and re-connecting them was a very glitchy process taking anywhere from 1 to 20 min. Another source of frustration was the bathroom door: the rail was apparently broken, and sometimes the door would get stuck if not careful when closing it. My wife got stuck a couple of times inside the bathroom, as reopening required to be outside and "muscling" the door. I think all these elements are essentials in a hotel, which is why I would probably look somewhere else should I have to come back. Other small things, the wardrobe space is not very big. It is fine for 1 person for a couple of days, but maybe not for more than that or for more than 1 person, unless you don't mind leaving your luggage open in the middle of the room. The room could have been more functional: provide a towel next to the kitchenette sink, a kettle to make tea, a coffee table instead of the poufs."

"This hotels gets mixed reviews from me. The location was great. It connects to Skywalk so walking around town in inclement weather is great. The bar staff was good along with front desk. The house keeping staff is not up to par. It was a struggle daily to get towels, room cleaned, which still did not happed etc. trash cans overflowing in areas etc. It had a nice heated pool and a nice workout room. Room for improvement and lots of potential. The Lyons Pub next door served great food."

"The room was excellent. However, the experience of leaving the hotel or reaching the room was extremely unacceptable. None of the elevators were functional. I, along with my companions, were trapped on the third floor for over thirty minutes, attempting to descend to the ground floor. Additionally, half of the doors in the stairwell were locked, which raised concerns regarding safety in the event of a fire. We will be reporting this to local officials. This situation appears to be a violation of safety regulations. Overall, it was an unacceptable experience, and I will not be staying at this hotel again."

"Great location for attending events at Target Center, which is just a block away. An older, remodeled building with nice rooms and a friendly staff at a good price. Bonus for two free drink coupons for every guest 21+ and a decent complimentary breakfast. Some minor details prevented me from rating it 5 stars: the refillable shampoo & conditioner containers were empty, the phone charger outlets didn't work and the Kleenex container was also empty."

"Hotel is conveniently located for the event we were in town for. As soon as we pulled up to the hotel, we were greeted by valets who directed us to check in and parked our vehicle for a nightly fee of $55. The hotel itself is very nice, upscale. There is a complimentary evening reception every night that serves both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and a variety of snacks. The reception was decorated cute for Halloween and has nice views of downtown and plenty of space for seating. The only downside was that when we arrived an hour before it ended, the snacks were picked over and out of a lot of the items, and they did not replenish everything. They also offer complimentary breakfast, which is a step above usual hotel breakfast. They have a made to order omelet station which was very nice. While we were there, a convention was going on at the hotel. People at the convention were also in the breakfast area, so it was very crowded, felt rushed, and not a relaxing atmosphere while getting food. The room was very nice, and I loved the separation between the bedroom and the living/kitchen area. The bathroom, however, only had sliding doors, and they do not lock, so they lacked privacy. Since we had the couch folded down to a bed, if someone was in the bathroom, we had to walk on top of bed to walk from bedroom to living area. Our room had a couple of areas that were not clean upon arrival, including some of the walls, and our comforter had a large makeup stain that looked fresh, and un washed. Overall, I was very impressed with the hotel, and I would stay again. Forgot to take more pictures!"
