"He was assigned my general/main oncologist after I my first diagnosis of endometrial cancer. After I had my total hysterectomy and the follow ups I thought everything was cleared. It metastasized to stage 2 or 3. Dr. Schaeffer didn't ever go into detail where my cancer was at. Three years later am at stage 4 Endometrial cancer. This is where I began to really feel in the dark about my condition. Requested interest in palliative care and was politely ignored. Then, 1st Keytruda treatment, I got pneumonitis and became near incapacitated. Six weeks later I was given 2nd treatment. This is what prompted my review as I believe Dr Schaeffer should have waited on 2nd treatment. It took me down I'm 48 hrs with Chest pains, breathing difficulty and extreme fatigue. Thought it would improve but didn't. I also have COPD. Made decision I could not drive 50 miles to appointment and got referral for new oncologist in my area. Dr Schaeffer does not teleconference. Currently in hospital with double pneumonia with no date in mind when I'll be released. I stressed quality over quantity to Dr. Schaeffer But I don't feel I was ever taken seriously and fully explained enough about my cancer or the treatment. I'm not good at knowing what questions to ask and I need to be told things directly. Now while I'm lying here on oxygen, I feel what life I had left was stolen. I'm not an experiment. Dr. Schaffer has no control of side effects from treatment, I understand. The thing is, I never felt he truly cared and was always rushed. This last occurrence was merely the last straw promoting a review I really never wanted to make."
