Reviews
"Barbara is absolutely the most empathic and open minded therapist I have ever spoke with. I always look forward to our sessions. She is truly wonderful."
"As a thirty year-old man, and as a professional musician who was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in 2009, seeing the same male therapist for nearly a decade -- because he is a musician himself -- seemed to make sense. Until it just didn't anymore. I decided I would rather speak with a woman about my troubles. I would encourage all men to seek out a woman's counseling, especially heterosexual men in romantic partnerships. My first session with Barbara was for couples therapy. Her ability to balance empathy with a more objective, dispassionate perspective -- such a breath of fresh air -- helped sustain my relationship for a good while. A few things in particular set Barbara apart from other therapists. As of late, for example, I have only seen her on and off, yet after each session I still feel as if I've hit life's reset button. A healthy purge! Secondly, and unlike other therapists I've engaged with, she makes herself available after hours, in case of emergencies and cetera. Lastly, she is a true humanist. Indeed, I think Maslow's unconditional positive regard approach informs her counseling; but, she is also a lower-case h humanist -- she truly believes in the unlimited potential of each of us. Not to mention, she charges based on one's ability to pay. (What a dirty Socialist!). She is a true gem."
