"It’s been 27 years since this guy tried to deliver our baby boy. I say try because if it wasn’t for the nurse, our child probably wouldn’t of survived. Dr Szmuc made what was supposed to be the best day of our lives, a total nightmare. Our baby was in distress and the delivery was not going smoothly. Dr Szmuc chose to leave the room while proclaiming that he would return when my wife learned to push despite our child’s heartbeat going from very high to dangerously low. Even his nurse was shocked at his dismissive attitude. She fought for our baby’s life and was the hero of our child’s birthday. Dr Szmuc was terrible and if I had the means then, I would of sued him into retirement. I can’t imagine that our experience was isolated and I’m ashamed that I haven’t shared this experience sooner. Please do your homework and find a compassionate and capable doctor for your childbirth."

"I have used Dr Szmuc with 3 of my pregnancies. He is such a kind dr and never seems to be in a rush, always taking time to answer any questions you have. He only delivered one of my children because he was not on-call for the other two (which I was so bummed about!). I felt very comfortable knowing he has so much experience. He will not push anything unnecessarily. In the case of any problems during pregnancy or labor, he will do what needs to be done for the safety of both patients, mama and baby, and will not skip over anything. He is humble and quiet but once you get to know him a little, humor will come out. His staff was excellent and friendly. They have moved to Southwest Contemporary Women’s Care and I have yet to see him there, but I am confident he still practices with his values in place."

"Dr. Szmuc is awesome! He takes the time to review all of your questions and his staff is friendly. The front office assistant remembered me by name just after my first visit. One of the nurses who has now assisted me three times always has a great attitude and talks to you for a bit and makes you feel very comfortable. Dr. Szmuc always walks you to the front to make sure your next appointed is set up and informs them of anything you might need. His office is small but clean and you can tell his patients love going there! I would recommend him as your OBGYN especially if you're a first time Mom like myself. He's very patient, and there is no dumb question!! He doesn't rush you through your appointment and makes sure your comfortable every visit."

"Highly recommend Dr. Szmuc. His office is nice and cozy, staff is very friendly. He took the time to answer any questions I had throughout my pregnancy. Something I appreciated was his "non-invasive" approach. He only sent me to referrals when I absolutely needed it, didn't constantly check to see if I had dilated towards the end of my pregnancy (only 3 times total, I ended up being induced a week later), didn't "look" for something to be "worried" about in order to squeeze money out of my insurance. I planned to have an un-medicated labor, and he was supportive and assuring of my choice, and gave me as much information as it related to going un-medicated. Although he didn't deliver my baby, he was constantly in touch with my bedside nurses to make sure things were going well and to answer any questions I had, checked up on me after the birth of my daughter, and made sure I felt well enough to be discharged. Definitely plan to go to him if/when I am pregnant again."

"Dr. Szmuc is really knowledgeable. He listens to any questions you have and answers them in a concerning way. With my first pregnancy at 39 week check, he was really concerned that my daughter wasn't feet first. He had me go to ob triage right away to get an ultrasound. She was definitely breech. I went back and he told me the 3 options I had and wasn't pushy with any of them. I called and told him my boyfriends and I decision and he got an ultrasound schedule for the next day. Szmuc definitely knows what he's talking about and knows how to handle things without trying to tell me what to do. If he's still doing obgyn by the time I have my 2nd child I will definitely go back to him! Szmuc and Beth are so very nice. The office staff is also sweet."
