"I don’t normally write reviews, but felt the need in hopes I can support other families going through a similar story as my family did with Primrose Fletcher Heights. We decided to withdraw both our children from Primrose due to several unforgettable and disheartening events. We began to get calls everyday asking us to pick up our son due to his behaviors only to be questioned by the owner why we haven’t brought in homemade supports/interventions for him when I asked her what they are doing differently to support this pattern of behaviors. My son quickly learned that it was OK to misbehave only to be rewarded by their staff to call parents ultimately leading to being sent home to his favorite place. I am saddened to share that when I questioned the owner of Primrose, Heather, as to why they are not trying anything new, her immediate response was, “We have been putting up with your child for years.” The words out of her mouth spoke volumes to me that my child would never be successful with a negative leader whom would say that to a parent. I have been an educator for 17 years and would never think or speak this way about a child. I immediately ended the phone call and withdrew my son. We have since enrolled him in a new daycare where he is excelling! He has had zero behavior incidents since starting him in this new school on September 11th. In a strange way it was a blessing Heather made such a disgusting comment about my child because it gave us the immediate urge to withdraw him as we were juggling with the idea to change daycares for months. I hope this message reaches any families considering the idea as to whether they should remain with Primrose. The only regret I have is not withdrawing him earlier knowing what I know now and the harm he felt from the adults while he attended."
"Leaving your baby in a childcare setting is hard. Thankfully, I don't worry about my son while he is at Primrose! He began in the infant room and is now almost 2. He is well cared for, happy, learning, enjoys his teachers, and is eager to play and have some fun when he's dropped off. The facility is clean, they provide healthy and nutritious food, and the rooms are well stocked with interesting toys and activities. The teachers and staff are friendly and helpful. I enjoy their curriculum and have been impressed with what my son is learning at such a young age. Communication is clear and prompt; an app is used to keep my up to date with my son's day. The playgrounds are really nice and even have misters. The only downside I have come across is the small size of the infant room - the cribs are close to the play area so the playing babies will easily disrupt the sleeping ones, but I can make my peace with that since the overall experience is very positive. We love Primrose and highly recommend them!"
"If I could give them 100 stars, I would! I have 2 boys who started Primrose of Fletcher heights back in the beginning of January. My oldest just turned 4 and my youngest is 16 months. Since day 1 they've both been welcomed with open arms and such warm hearts and smiles by not only their teachers, but everyone who works at Primrose. We've met all the managers and have seen lots of the staff while we're in the halls and everyone is always so friendly and inviting. My 4 year old, who use to have pretty bad seperation anxiety at his last daycare, is now so excited for school and will walk right up to the doors and talks to everyone! He loves saying goodbye to the front office just because it makes him so happy when they wish us a goodnight! The change I've seen in him since starting Primrose is literally day and night. He has grown so much in his confidence and academics and I am so grateful for his teachers and everyone who's had a hand in helping him grow. I recommend them to anyone who wants their children in a safe and loving school who will work with your child and make sure they grow. My 16 month old is now signing different things to me and is definitely trying to communicate which I am so astonished by. I love how Primrose has curriculum that is tailored to the age your child is at and that all of the children I see look like they love being there just as much as my boys do. We truly are beyond blessed to have Primrose in our lives and I look forward to a long, fun and loving journey watching my boys grow with the help of this AMAZING school! ❤"
"On the surface Primrose appears to be the perfect school to prepare your child for kindergarten. Nice classrooms, great playgrounds and friendly staff. This is a facade that’s masks the true nature of how this school operates. My 2 year old son started at Primrose at Fletcher Heights in December. By the end of March he was “dis enrolled”. In the beginning of February we received a message (not a call) that he had to “cool off” in the office because he threw a tantrum (big surprise from a 2 year old…). After that, we received a message every time he had a tantrum. This was their tactic to document his behavior. It was obvious at this point our son was “black balled” and would never be given a chance at this school. We took initiative to schedule a meeting with the school owner (Heather) and director to discuss what we can do to help our son soon after receiving the first message in February. We did everything including getting our son evaluated for autism and both cognitive and behavioral evaluations. He is not on the spectrum and he is excelling in all the other attributes that were evaluated. My son experienced several life changes since enrolling in this school. We just moved here from another part of town and we also welcomed another addition to our family. Zero sympathy was given to these life event changes and the school showed no interest providing additional time for my son to acclimate himself. If your child is not “perfect” in the eyes of Primrose, they will quickly begin the process for getting your child “dis enrolled”. Per the parent handbook, they can dismiss your child “at any time, for any reason”. If the owner (Heather) ever reaches out to you regarding an issue, it’s too late. Start looking for another schooling option for your child. I would strongly advise you to save your deposit and consider another preschool. After looking at other schools in the area, they indicated several other parents are considering leaving Primrose due to their lack of interest is dealing with children that have a personality that doesn’t fit their “high standards”. The director will more than likely see this review and type a lengthy politically correct response that will try and convince you otherwise. This is 100% how all this went down. Don’t buy their impending rebuttal and fake apology for our experience."
"When we moved to Peoria we had 2 horrible experiences with daycares until we found Primrose at Fletcher Heights. This school was amazing for our daughter and for me personally. Not only were the staff and owners there for my daughter, but for me as well during a very difficult season in life. My daughter obviously had the most amazing experience as she is excited to now be on the staff! I highly recommend this school and it’s staff."
