"I don't feel safe here.homeless people coming in and out and need a play ground to keep kids more safer and parents to keep an eye on them then leaving them unattended"
"Oh let's get started.. I am a long time resident here. I have been here years. Now a lot has changed, most for the better. But I'm here to warn you: Enter at your own risk. 1. Gladys- Current Management. While she can seem fair at first, she can be rude, disrespectful when not given her way, and very condescending in her regard towards you if you do not agree with her. For the most part its best not to have interactions with her if it can be avoided completely. If not, and your not one to take being talked down to or disrespected, be prepared to speak firmly and openly on your position. She will try and railroad any conversation that doesnt go her way and is not above making veiled threats to push her point. She is jaded and needs to retake courses on human relations. She would be a great manager if she could fix how she speaks to people. She can be very on component in her job but cannot admit when she fails or falls short. Its always the tenants fault. Also, she picks and chooses who she enforces the rules for. Some residents she is on constantly. others, that she likes, she over looks their misgivings as long as its not too inappropriate. She is very firm with the rules and I like to say is firm and somewhat fair most of the time. But she has short comings that desperately need work on that affect her professionalism. 2. BUGS -PESTS: YES ITS INFESTED HERE. They have a MASSIVE ROACH issue and BED BUGS too. Sure they offer pest control and a man comes by once a month with a spray can to "treat" the issue. But as you can imagine. It doesnt help. Everyone knows ONLY HEAT TREATMENTS are effective on bed bugs. Guess they missed that memo. They will not tell you of this issue when you move in, so i will. They have bed bugs and roaches. Now you know. You may be one of the few who do not have them but you just may. I personally never had bed bugs here. I dont have much company and keep to myself. I make sure to treat my place on my own dime as its just laughable what they offer. But hey I guess they try. 3. Maintainance/Office/Operations: The office is constantly closed. While it has very specific hours posted, you'll be hard pressed to find anyone there on time, everyday, or open during hours of operations. Again, Gladys will argue that she is always there and just a call away. But that's just apart of the poor accountability mentioned above. Often the maintaince man will open up but he doesnt see clients and can barely speak rough english. Which brings us to him and his poor communication skills. He can be very rude. Almost volatile when angry. Now not dangerous or aggressive, but constantly snapping and frustrated from overwork. His attitude is triggered easily if he doesn't like something or gets frustrated fast and has a bad attitude springing from a short fuse. You have to work on his schedule. Not the other way around. And when making repairs (which they currently are heavily in the middle of), he will not give ANY warning he's going to be loud. On numerous occasions he has had to perform extremely loud work at the crack of dawn. Knowing this, management will give no warning and he will get to work right IN FRONT OF YOUR DOOR AT 7AM. with power tools and not even a courtesy knock to warn you and your family of this disruption. This happens OFTEN. They HAVE gotten much better at fixing any issues within a reasonable time frame. But again, on THEIR time. Don't dare complain either. This places houses mostly low, restricted income and displaced homeless vouchers. So yeah it can home undesirables. But for the price it is ok. Older buildings and thin cheap, materials make up the construction. 4. Now this place is under renovation. All units getting upgraded (hopefully gutted). A lot has changed. Its getting safer. More security. Lots of cameras. Strict reinforcement of rules. Gated and locked community. Its a work in progress and getting better.. But has a long way."
"I’ve been a resident at Towers Apartments for about 3 years. I’ve seen management and maintenance come and go, and there’s been a lot of improvements to the property. The only reason I give this place 4 instead of 5 stars, is because it’s very old. Old place, old place problems. Gladys is a good manager; she’s upfront, firm, but fair. David, the current maintenance manager, is outstanding. This place is about 42 years old, and he and his team work very hard to keep it in good condition. They’re also really great about the pools, so everybody can cool off during the Summer. If you have limited income, you could do a lot worse. I have tile floors, they installed tinted windows, and they’re in the process of putting in a new, more effective A/C system. The property has cameras in every angle of the property, so it’s safe. Gladys and her team have done an excellent job, upgrading this property. And more improvements are coming!"
"Please read, you have been officially warned. Small appartment community. You get what you pay for and management works with you. Staff is friendly and straight forward. Keep to yourself and pay your rent then this place is okay. Update: now that I'm fully moved out I feel safe to give an honest updated review. The first week of moving in, the apartment on the 3rd story above me was littered with bed bugs. They threw all the furniture over the balcony landing at my front door. At this point I had not one peace of furniture in my apartment. I had never seen or had been bitten by a bed bug until I lived here. What I thought was mosquito bites turned out to be bed bugs. For about a month we all worked to get rid of them. It was absoulty hell, and no way out. After the bed bugs seemed to venture somewhere else the cockroaches made a comfortable stay. I did not realize how bad they where until my last days there. The cabinets above my sink alwasy leaked black water and we had told maintenance a few times about it but figured it's a problem in the apartment above us. The apartment complex is more for "recovering" addicts and people who are coming off the street. So they're taking people who are trying to recover and people who are addicts and putting them in one gated community lol. Lastly my move out date was written on file for the 18th of April and management bangs on my way door the 16th saying I should have been out on the 15th. So I had to rush out and attempt to clean the best I could. Management seems constantly stressed and they are very busy, management is not bad here and I understand Stacy is always going through alot it seems. I think they need more staff to step in and help get this complex right. Which means they need to completely tear down the walls and remodel the complex. If your a working person who wants a peacefull place to live before coming to this community I recommend looking at fairways at cave Creek on Thunderbird, urban 188 on Camelback, or north mountain apartments on on 7th Street."
"my studio was awesome, remodeled, they were pet friendly. i had only two maintenance issues. My AC went out and within two hours they had it fixed and replaced. I had a loud obnoxious fan in the bathroom within minutes it was fixed. Best maintenance team ever. Stacey the manager is all business, no BS. and that's a good thing people. The place is kept very clean, power washing of sidewalks, everyday raking of courtyard zen garden and the people who live there are cool. For the price of a remodeled studio at (450.00) you better get in there now because its only going to go up with the light rail making its way north. Strictly looking at the apartment buildings themselves exterior, interior, condition, rent and management its a good deal. Other reviewers said "Hood and Dangerous" . I say "Affordable and Exciting"."
