El Trovatore Motel

"OMG FOLKS!! BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!! THIS PLACE IS A HORROR SHOW NIGHTMARE FREAK SHOW!!!! 150% NO LIES!!! These owners got the game plan down!!!! The guy will distract you while (talk your ear off about the past) the wife goes and turns on the lights in your room. This may seem like a wonderful homely gesture BUT we fiqured out after why they do this…its to scare all the spider roaches and nasty bugs with the lights…my wife ended up being a human buffet the night we stayed here…the spider roaches ATE HER ALIVE!!! See the pictures!! She woke up with these blister like wounds….that over a couple days….turned into huge scaring welts!! We called and complained and the owner hung up on us, this place NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN AND REPORTED ASAP!!!!… ITS UNSAFE AND INHUMANE!!! If anyone has any pull or connections reading this PLEASE help shut this place down so other folks dont have to go through the turmoil we did!!! To add on….this place is a cesspool for radom drunks and drug attics hanging out around the property…especially in the back…random engine parts, socks, trash, wrappers, diapers, rubble and junk scattered across the property….100’s of feral cats, random dogs and animals running around (probably for pest control) the property….the door to the room had a three inch gap which leaves room for any pest to slither or crawl on in at night while your asleep! (If you can sleep) The bed was made of bouncy blown out springs…the bathroom of jagged rocks….a cold low pressure water spout for a shower…honestly, we were basically reeled into a glowing spider roach aquarium as BAIT!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR HEALTH AND WELLBEING….THE OWNER WANTS YOUR CASH AND THEN FEEDS YOU TO HIS VERY WELL ALIVE CRAWLING CHEWING INSECTS!!!! SEE IMAGES!!!! This is my wifes poor hand!! NO REFUND…NO APOLOGY…NO NOTHING!!!!!! SHOULD BE SUED!!!! Dont let the pretty vintage paintings and cool route 66 imagery fool you!!! YOU WILL BE SPIDER ROACH BAIT!!! (This post is late but 100% honest…had to hook up my account to leave the review…actual stay was in October of 23). Thanks to all who read this and please please take heed to this post!! Hopefully it wont be removed due to brutal honesty!!! Safe travels all route 66ers!!! PLEASE SKIP THIS PLACE! ITS A NIGHTMARE TO PAY TO BE SPIDER ROACH LUNCH!!! I WISH I COULD MAKE 20 WARNING POSTS ON THIS BUT I CANT!! What a sad world!!!"

"My husband and I stayed at this historic motel for one night. I was excited because a few years ago the show Motel rescue featured this motel.When we drove up I saw the mural on the outside of the motel that the young women from the show had done, it still looked great. The problem starts when you enter the room. I saw duck tape along the bottom of the door as well as filthy baseboards. Then the bathroom was unstable. I wasn't sure if I even wanted to use the toilet let alone the sink and shower. The shower was so dirty with soap scum and black dirt that we didn't even try to take one for fear of athletes foot or fungus. The bathroom wall tiles by the sink had been painted and it's all pealing off. We will not be staying there again. The charm is not worth the filthy conditions."

"Booking a room at this hotel was one of the worst decisions that I ever made. Even though I canceled a full 10 days before the cancellation deadline, the hotel charged me the full amount for the stay PLUS an extra $110.89. So, I'm out of nearly $400. They refuse to refund me the money, even though I canceled well in advance of the deadline. This is unacceptable and outright pure theft. Think twice before booking a room here. They are unscrupulous and can't be trusted."

"We loved everything about this little "blast from the past" motel! The proprietor was very gracious and informative during the check-in process, and shared many interesting stories about the local area. Can't say enough good things about it. Preserving history is never easy and we greatly appreciate the efforts to keep El Travatore alive for the next generation!"
