"I need to start this review by saying that I am picky, picky, picky! I've been visiting here (from the east coast) for months and needed a salon for my high maintenance hair. Distinctions Salon/Mia was referred to me by a relative. I cannot say enough good things about this place. First, Mia (owner extraordinaire) is a consummate professional. She cares so deeply about her business and her reputation. I've had her do touch ups, highlights (blonde on dark hair), cuts and blowouts, all with amazing results. Mia was able to match my color(s) beautifully. And, the best part - the shampoo and conditioning process comes with an awesome head massage - so gentle and relaxing. Let's face it, prices in this area are all over the map, but in my opinion, this salon is reasonable for all services provided. Distinctions Salon deserves all of their 5 star reviews. Highly recommend. *****"

"I recently moved to the Phoenix area and had not had my hair styled in over 7 months. Needless to say it needed some TLC. I have loose curly hair and prefer to wear it as naturally as possible without the frizz. Sierra was amazing in giving me a beautiful layered cut that frames my face and brings out the best in my curls. She also showed me a way to "set" the curls with very little work. I am so happy to have found such a talented stylist on my very first try after moving here. Thank you Sierra!!!"

"This is going to be a long review but I cannot say enough good things about this salon. I randomly made a last minute appointment which they were nice enough to fit me in. Distinctions Salon had 5 stars and that’s rare you see that with a hair salon. I decided to give them a try and I am so elated that I did. I was nervous as I hadn’t had my hair done in a while. Ciara was my stylist and she worked hand in hand with Mia. I have never seen two stylist work so well together and talk about the best options for the client together. The comradery was great. The blonde highlights and the cut look SO good! Ciara even did face framing which I had never had or heard of and wow it made a big difference. My layers and cut look amazing. I am so impressed. I had been with a stylist for 12 years before finding this salon. Being new to the area it took me a while as I was nervous to experiment. I hate to say this but this salon in literally one visit did better than my previous stylist who was amazing and very experienced. I cannot say enough how very very happy I am to have found Distinctions Salon. My hair looks amazing. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it and I have my confidence back. Both Ciara and Mia are very accommodating. They don’t view you as “difficult” for saying what you want. They both are very honest and open. I didn’t have to even guide them or anything. I said what I wanted and showed a couple realistic pictures and boom they did it. Ciara was so nice and hospitable. Very sweet. I can’t believe I found such an amazing salon on my first visit. They are both also good with working with ALL ethnicities. Thanks to Mia’s son who answers the phone for getting me in last minute. He was a nice boy too. No wonder this place has 5 stars.
