"If you're craving Hawaiian and can't/won't make it yourself this will do! The kalbi and garlic chicken is definitely on the sweet side, and the Mac salad is a tad heavy on the mayo... Still delicious! The kalua pig was nice n smoky and the rice was cooked perfectly. Limited menu makes picking easy and they have malasadas (sold by half or full dozen)!"
"Walked into a very smoky grill smelly room so just ordered to go instead. There is not enough ventilation for the small space. Tried the kalbi short rib and pork combo. Rib tasted greasy with old or rancid oil after taste, which really lingered unpleasantly. Macaroni salad and steam rice was too sticky and overcooked, and pork carnitas are not that great. Have a high hopes for this place based on other reviews but came away disappointed especially for the price it charges for few very super unusually thin sliced short rib. Would like to support small businesses like this typically but it's simply not up to par..."
"Huge portions, unique flavors. Always a good sign when the hole in the wall is packed. Seemed like a family run business as well. I’ll be back to try the garlic shrimp and get more Malapasas (Ube)"
"LOVED this place! We’ve been meaning to stop in when we’re on this side of town and I am kicking myself for waiting so long! We have had the pleasure of being to Hawaii a few times and have always loved the food. This stuff tastes so authentic!! The menu is small, but everything looks good! Prices are what you’d expect for meat-heavy plates (all listed online) at about $20 for mixed plates. Portion sizes are good! My husband and I shared a mixed plate for lunch (although I don’t know if I want to share next time)! There is a credit card transaction fee, so if you’d prefer to avoid, bring cash. Everything is made to order, so expect to wait for the food. It took ours about 20min. We got the kalbi ribs and kalua pork! Both were phenomenal. We also had a taro malasada and I regret not ordering more than one! We’ll definitely be back! We also brought our 2 year old. He loved the food (he’s an adventurous eater). There were 2 high chairs available - which is always a non-negotiable when eating with kids. The wait was a little long for him, but we had some snacks. I don’t believe the bathroom had a changing table. The restaurant is small, about 7 tables inside, and not a lot in the way of atmosphere, but trust me, you don’t miss it."
