"My furnace went out on the coldest day of the year. I was referred to J&D by a coworker and gave them a call. Despite it being near the end of the working day the owners personally came out for a last minute house call to check things out. My unit was dead in the water but fortunately I gave the right folks a call. They walked me through all the possible options and were extremely transparent --answering all my questions in detail. We determined the best course of action was to replace my furnace and they were able to get the install started first thing the next morning -- they even provided me space heaters to help get me and my family through the night. The technicians showed up in the morning exactly when they said they were going to, and they were friendly and professional which is always a plus! I worked from home that day and didn't hardly notice they were there. They were diligent and finished an hour or so before they had thought it would take. The night without heat was a little rough, and under different circumstances I could see this being a terrible experience. However, I feel like J&D helped make the best out of a not so great situation. If you want to support a homegrown Idaho company that has been around since the 60s and not displace any more locals, then I definitely recommend J&D. Thank you to everyone at J&D!"

"J&D recently upgraded a whole new system at the office & both gentlemen that did the install were very professional & quiet during install. Our office was open for business while they did the install & we barely knew they were here doing it. I would highly recommend J&D for your heating or colling needs. (4 star only because no one is perfect.)"

"I have personally used J&D heating for approximately two years. In the past I have been satisfied with the service. Yesterday I had a technician out to check on why our heat pump was not coming on. I was told we would have a minimum of a $44.00 dollar charge for the house call which I was fine with. The tech came out checked the thermostat and realized we had it on an emergency setting which was bypassing the heat pump. The house call took maybe 5 minutes. Everything came on and was working properly. The tech went out to the truck and let me know I might have a little higher bill then the $44.00 dollars which I figured would be fair for a house call. I was expecting around $100.00 to maybe $150.00 dollars. What I was not expecting was the tech to tell me he had to charge me for the least expense service he had and that was for a HO1A System Component Rejuvenation Performance and safety testing which was not done and that the charge was approximately $265.00 + the $44.00 equaling a total charge of $311.00 for my 5-minute house call. I will not be using this company for any future work or giving any recommendations for them as I do not believe in price gouging. Use them at your own risk."
