"Our unit was fine, very nice in fact. The problem lies in the leasing staff. It seems like a revolving door, they're never on the same page, and you will get attitude and misinformation from the random new leasing assistant every couple of months. The parking is a NIGHTMARE. A true nightmare. One time someone parked in my spot and I was told that I need to just find another spot, but it had to be a legal spot. I ended up having to park 3 buildings away with my groceries. Getting our security deposit back has been a headache and a half, requiring multiple phone calls to try to resolve. Overall, just the quality and care for residents is poor. Rent is comparable to other places, and amentities are nice. Just wasn't for us."

"I’ve never written a bad review before. But I feel like something needs to be said about the management’s poor communication, unprofessionalism, and lack of empathy towards their own tenants. I’ll share my experience this past weekend along with eight other people who unfortunately had their vehicles towed and lost $600 As most of you already know, the parking situation at the northern is terrible. You get one assigned spot per unit. And the guest parking is very limited. There’s a small circle that can fit about eight to ten vehicles along the curb where my girlfriend lives. She has been living here for seven months and we’ve never seen a vehicle get towed there. Now if you don’t want vehicles parking at the circle, there are quick and easy preventable steps that should’ve been taken. Instead, management decided that calling a tow truck with ZERO warning on eight of their own tenants was the best approach. Here are some examples of what should’ve been brought to action. 1. Write a quick email to all tenants stating that all vehicles need to be moved from the circle. It takes five minutes 2. Put out some cones at the circle in the afternoon so people know not to park there when they get home from work. It’s cheap and takes 3 minutes 3. Knock on tenants doors to let them know that their vehicles will be towed if they don’t move them. It takes ten minutes Giving a minimum 24 hour notice goes a long way. It lets people not only be better prepared but it also lets people know that you care. These people do not care. The manager was silent and stared at his laptop when we gave him a chance to make this right. A lady in the office recommended that we park on the opposite side of the northern which would equate to about a ten minute walk to the unit. There are so many more issues with this place that I won’t dive into. But as of now, I would recommend that people do their research before they sign a lease to this place. Only when they fix their issues would I recommend this place to others. Let’s be more kind towards our fellow Americans and neighbors."

"I enjoy living here Luke in the office is amazing super informative and made the move in process super smooth and fast. I love the amenities here the gym has the perfect amount of equipment to ditch your gym membership. And the maintenance is on point they handle all requests very quickly. The apartment itself is so cute and gives modern but homey and has great lighting. Over all top tier experience."

"Absolute worst place we have ever lived. The management is a joke, there is zero communication between any of them. They will try to charge you for any little thing they can while they are already charging an insane amount for rent. If you leave your apartment spotless after moving they will still try and charge you hundreds of dollars for a cleaning fee and they will not call you for a final walk through even though you requested it. They will not give you an itemized bill for anything either. They will charge you a month's worth of rent AFTER you've been moved out for two months (with four months notice to vacate) and your lease has already ended. They will charge you a "reletting fee" after you've moved out and completed your lease terms. There is no parking and you have to pay extra for a garage or carport. The walls are paper thin. Not a family friendly place but they will happily let dogs bark all day long with no consequences. People will smoke on their patios but no grills or flags allowed. We were hardly able to last a year here, this place is going downhill fast. Absolutely do not recommend, go ANYWHERE ELSE."

"We love living at The Northern at Coeur d’Alene! The staff are friendly and helpful and the units are beautiful. We only meant to live here for one year after moving to Coeur d’Alene, but we have renewed our lease twice now! The businesses and amenities on site are and added bonus. It is a great place to live!"
