Courtyard by Marriott Wichita at Old Town 820 East 2nd Street North, Wichita, KS 67202

"Save your money on this one. Marriott is really taking a nosedive. We travel a lot and over the years, we’ve enjoyed Marriotts. However, this past year, we’ve had multiple negative experiences. When you get to a room, make sure you check your mattress. Many of them are urine soaked. They just put a topper on it and keep renting them out. When we arrived at 3:06pm, the desk clerk said the only rooms available were the ones with no outside windows. We could wait another 45 minutes or take the dim room. We opted for the one that was ready. The room was dark and only had one chair. Generally, the Kings have a small sofa. I checked the mattress for bed bugs as I always do and noticed many urine stains. (See pictures) We called down to the desk to see if we could change rooms and the very unfriendly clerk said we’d have to wait a couple of hours and she’d call us back when one was ready. We waited several hours and she never called back. We went to a late dinner and she was just sitting in the lobby scrolling on her phone. (See picture). We didn’t have a choice and had to stay in that room for the night. The hotel is short staffed on housekeepers. The manager was off for the weekend even though the hotel was full. I called and left a message and he sent a form email basically saying, “sorry, not sorry.” While the location is good, the subpar rooms and service do not make it a good option. It starts at the top and clearly, the General Manager doesn’t care. That is reflected in his employees. Stay at the Drury Inn instead."

"I don't stay in Marriotts much but this was really nice. The room was high and very clean. The bathroom was nice as well. The only negative was the pillows because they were so flat."

"Great if you want the bar scene but not if you want a good night's sleep on a Saturday night. The drunks turn out about 2 am screaming and yelling at each other. Good staff, adequate rooms but be aware of what most of the clientele use the hotel for which is a night of partying at the bars."

"East side rooms get a lot of noise from local bars until 2am. Also had a maintenance person barge into room without knocking, totally unacceptable. Hotel staff didn’t seem too worried about when we complained."

"It's weird because the room was clean and nice but it was the weirdest setup. No easy way to lay in bed and watch tv. No free coffee downstairs. Breakfast is 15 bucks and 12 dollars for parking. Our view was literally a wall outside the window. The location is amazing though."
