"The center itself is good, the hall we were in this year seemed unfinished if I'm honest, like maybe they were in the middle of renovating and cleaned up for this performance. At least I hope that's the case because it seemed like an elementary school where they have the cafeteria gym and "auditorium" in the same room. To see the states best high school singers at their biggest event of the year perform in a space like this was just a let down and disappointing. Those kids deserved better. The event staff were the most unorganized I've seen since my first bad venue on tour back in 1994. Knowing you're about to hold over a thousand people at the door for an hour or so wait, in a room that holds only a few hundred people at best, organizing a line should have been first thought, not a frantic after thought. Shame, last year was a great event all around."
"We really enjoyed the car show and the Sunflower Swap Meet for Charity!"
"Attended Wichita Symphony Orchestra's 'Spirit of the Season' concert again this year . . . I wish they would hold more events in this nice venue."
"I brought my kids here for the Blippi world tour. The acoustics were amazing, they were very neurodivergent friendly during the show, and it was a wonderful performance. The only downside was the dust. My allergies didn’t agree with it at all."
"For how old the building is, it’s kept up as good as possible. Do I think Wichita deserves a new performing arts center? Yes. But this one is still working great for the customers at least. Plenty of parking in the area. There is a parking lot across the street. Save some time and download the app called park mobile (little green symbol on app). Sign up and enter your car and card number in advance to save some time. Or you can just take a picture of the QR code posted and you fill out all the info. Inside was fine and easy to get around. Small concession stands. But the theater itself had plenty of room. The seats were surprisingly not small. Which I enjoyed. The theater has two levels. We sat in row EE, and that’s where these pictures come from for reference. Sound quality was good and stage was a decent size compared to other theaters. Delano district is right across the River. Good place to grab some food/drinks before or after shows. Monarch is a place I recommend. Overall I’d definitely come back to watch another show!"
