"I'm a current resident, and we've only been here 6 months, and this is, BY FAR, the worst place we've ever rented from. The appliances are outdated. The carpets are horrible, and haven't been changed in years. The walls have had patches since we moved in, and haven't been painted. I got locked out of my place for 4 hours because their locking system malfunctioned. We had to wait 4 days to get our faucet fixed. Overall I give this place 2 stars because they have a nice pool. Other than that, it's NOT worth the price."
"Last spring, we scouted at least a dozen apartments in the Lenexa/Overland Park are, and WaterCrest was our top choice for both of us. The complex itself is absolutely beautiful with all the amenities we need. Our apartment is a dream come true for us. The staff are always very helpful, friendly and prompt. We love it here!"
"Okay updated review, staff so far have been nice The apartment we took has the master bedroom acing the highway, which I never knew prior to signing my lease since the unit wasn’t available to tour and no one told me! Haven’t slept in a week and neither has my wife. If you’re going to build an apartment complex next to the high way and have bedrooms facing the highway, do a better job soundproofing the windows. Quite ridiculous"
"If you’re considering leasing with WaterCrest, please weigh your other options, especially if you’re an out of towner like me. Yes, the complex is aesthetically appealing inside and out but don’t get blinded by the aesthetics. I had to make many maintenance requests throughout my duration (a little less than a year). Silverfish ran rampant, and many other bugs in the hallways due to trash being left out for days. Parking was also an issue. I had to fight for a parking spot every day. My main complaint was the noise. I lived on the second floor, which allowed me to be consumed by noise all day and night beyond the “normal apartment noises.” I had inconsiderate neighbors below my main bedroom who would open and close their garage 15+ times or more within a couple of hours. Compared to the neighbors below my other bedroom and living room, I would barely notice they were coming or going. The neighbors would also start their motorcycles inside the garage below my main bedroom. Above me was a family with two large dogs. The dogs would run back and forth throughout the apartment. The owners had no control over them. These two issues would allow my apartment to shake. I made numerous complaints to the leasing office/manager. I provided video footage and time stamps of the incidents occurring for months. Neighbors below me were retaliating, and I no longer felt safe or had peace of mind. Management gave me the option to break my lease early because it was nothing more they could do after all my complaints. However, I wholeheartedly believe they only gave me that option so that this issue wouldn’t turn legal. I genuinely feel sorry for the individual(s) who leased that apartment after me. The entire experience was a nightmare."
"I lived here from mid 2020 and my lease was up yesterday. I'm convinced this is the best apartment I will ever live in. It really set the bar on everything from amazing staff, beautiful landscaping, what felt like soundproof walls, such friendly neighbors, and so much more with the great amenities. Every call, maintenance request, email, etc was met with patience and a quick response. Anzley and Tanner have worked here basically my entire tenure and they are absolutely amazing and I'm sure will help train many more excellent leasing agents in the future. If you're lucky enough to be able to live here take the opportunity and sign a lease with them."
