"The clubs are gorgeous but the customer service not so great. I gave my husband a custom fitting and new Mizuno Hot Irons for his birthday. The actual fitting went well, we ordered the clubs, and then they came in with the wrong stickers on them. My husband had to request that, for as much as we paid for the clubs, the correct stickers be put on them and that they be mailed to us and he would put them on. They were not. We got a call to come in and they would switch out the labels. Today, he took in the clubs and the fellow there (who was the guy who did his fitting) said he would have to leave his clubs till Monday as they didn't have the time to switch out the labels. Not real impressive when you happen to be the most expensive fitting experience and clubs in town. We won't be back and we won't recommend to any of our many golfing friends."
"I recently had a fitting by Kent Clodfelter at the Club Champion store in Overland Park, KS. I must say Kent is by far the best equipment fitter I have worked with. I have had fittings with five (5) different fitters and this was by far the best experience I have had. Another thing that was nice about this fitting is that I play lefthanded and there was no lack of options for both woods and/or irons at the Overland Park location. If you are in the market for new clubs I would strongly recommend getting a fitting at the Club Champion location in Overland Park, KS."
"Kent Clodfelter was my club fitter and he did a wonderful job! He is knowledgeable, and really works hard to find the combination of equipment that works for you and your swing. I purchased irons last year and love them, as I've shaved strokes off my score. I just got fitted for a driver and 7 wood and can't wait to get these ! He knows his stuff and I highly recommend Kent!"
"I chose to go here due to their wide variety of clubs and the fact that they would apparently stand behind anything they sold. The latter couldn't be further from the truth. I was upsold a set of irons by a previous employee at the end of the 2020 season, had issues the entire 2021 season making solid contact but chalked it up to getting used to the irons. I made some progress, but the 2022 season was still the worst GIR stats I've had in a long time. I simply wasn't getting the same dispersion I was seeing on the Trackman during my fitting. I reached out to Club Champion to see what we could do about adjusting the clubs or replacing the shafts to get a better dispersion and overall experience. When I did, I was told my fitter didn't work there anymore and I would see someone else. No problem. I went in to see him and he agreed that something wasn't right. We tried different lie angles and adjusted the loft on my low irons as strong as possible but it didn't work. He agreed that if I still had issues, they would replace the shafts or irons and "make it right." After a few months of trying out the adjustments, things still didn't feel right. I called to talk to that same person and was told he too quit and doesn't work there anymore. I set an appointment with my third fitter and this is where the customer experience really gets bad. He evaluates the Trackman numbers and simply does not think it's the clubs and tells me I have an "Indian not the arrow" situation, implying that it's my swing that the issue and not the clubs. I have played competitive golf my entire life and know when the clubs are not working out. Plus, I put old iron sets in play during this time and, despite them being short on distance (why I was buying new irons in the first place), their dispersion on the course was great. The fitter then continues to give me unsolicited swing advice on how to hit my irons better. Now I'm fuming. The whole point of the fitting process is to get clubs fit to my swing, not fit my swing to a club. I got corporate involved but was eventually written off and ignored. I still have this set of irons and continue to struggle with their dispersion until I have enough money to buy new ones. I recently was fit into a new driver by Golf MD and the experience was unbelievably better than what was seen at Club Champion. I saw instant improvement on the course and couldn't be happier. I will never go back to CC and will never recommend it to any of my friends."
"This was my first fitting I’ve done. I was greeted by Jake the moment I walked in. I am from out of town and have never been inside anything remotely close to a fitting bay. The ambience made me feel that I was at the right place. With the latest equipment lining the walls, Jake promptly sat me down and asked how my golf game was going. Jake was very understanding and knowledgeable. He started with questions that narrowed down where my golf game needed help and offered to lightly go over fittings that were not a focal point. Our short but brief conversation gave me assurance that I was searching for. Soon after we went straight into iron fittings. That was where Jake started to illustrate his golf knowledge. From spin, distance, dynamic loft, attack angle, etc. I’m sure most of us watch tons of videos but having it said on a “ one on one “ session, was amazing. We then moved into drivers and after a few swings, Jake saw I was fatigued and suggested to do the putter fitting. I was surprised that club champion had the latest putters to test such as Evnroll, LAB, and the latest Scottie Cameron’s. To get a putter fitting with any putter that pleased your eyes, that in itself was worth the price of admission. Short but sweet, we went back to finish the driver fitting and even though I was not striking it the best, Jake suggested the best combination of shaft and head for me. Moving to the last part of the full bag fitting. Jake saw that my wedges and long irons produced the the same, if not better, statistics as newer clubs. This is a relief as I didn’t feel pressured to change a club in my bay that didn’t need it. Overall, The fitting process was exceedingly excellent. Jake was just the guy to talk to about golf. He was knowledgeable in every aspect and process in fitting me to better at my golf game. I would definitely be back if ever I was in the area for a refitting. The atmosphere and environment, encourages progression. Great job all !!! Jake…. Take a bow."
