"Loved everything about the inside of the apartment and once the entire community is completed, It's going to be a nice place to stay. The price of rent for the area is not ideal. The avg income for a single individual is between 42kand 55k in Kansas City, which means every two weeks this person brings home maybe $1,200- $1,500 after taxes. You are asking for $1,400+ for a one-bedroom apartment, not factoring in this person still has to pay utilities, renters insurance, internet, etc. Also, factor in gas, parking, car payment, car insurance, food, other bills, and life stuff happening. There is absolutely no way a person can afford this without living paycheck to paycheck or working themselves to death. Most people don't even make enough to cover just rent with their first paycheck. There is limited parking in the area while construction is going on all 4 corners, so if you can't afford the extra $100 per month, then you will have to park away from the building possibly out of sight of your apartment. Also, paying an extra $100 bucks a month for a non-secured spot does not sit right with me. The parking lot does not have a security gate (which im paying 35 a month and we at least have a gate) from stopping cars from parking in the back. Anybody can park in your spot at night or walk in the back and look through cars and break-in. There's a high-volume bus stop right in front of the apartment building and a high-crime area and no security guard at night. (I do think MAC should look into making their residents feel safe, by offering a guard during the night hours). Kendall did mention parking on Forest street which is up the street and a block away from the building. So no visibility for your vehicle. and even if your car gets broken into behind the building they will not cover it but you'll still be paying 100 a month. But Kendall was friendly and gave a lot of great feedback. But its a high crime area and to me its not worth your safety to be paying 1500 plus and looking over your shoulder each night. Also dealing with constant construction until all 3 other buildings are completed."
