Wau Lin Cree Apartments

"Great place! We moved in late October of 2022 after needing to move out of our old within the city. Jackie (information desk) ended up being our upstairs neighbor. We had our complaints with some of the equipment in our unit i.e the garbage disposal but nothing out of the ordinary that you wouldn’t expect from a 1970’s built complex. My wife and I were expecting a baby at the time and actually DID have our baby while living there, nothing but peace and quiet. We did have a break in to a car of our neighbors not long after moving in but everyone stayed vigilant, community is really good once you put in the effort of simple “hello’s” and such. Police presence increased upon request so no real issues. Spiders can be an issue but that’s a given with the amount of wood and wild life in surrounding the area. Dog lovers everywhere and CATS too surprisingly, we miss Hemingways greetings dearly! Invest in lamps if you move here, being a 70’s complex that was the fad to have lamps everywhere so there are NO OVERHEAD LIGHTS as of 2023. Respect people here and they’ll respect you, maintenance became irritated sometimes with us with how much we would request but stay patient and thank them and all should be good. :)"

"Ive been here 4 years going on 5!! Management is poor on the Maintenance part always in a back in forth argument with them to fix problems that are happening fix a lot of problems with KILLS, They spray over stuff to fix the problem! I've never had people try to argue with Me about trying to fix things in the place they are supposed to take care of themselves I would say JUST LAZY!!!!!!!! Don't try and call the emergency line they let it go to voice mail When they are ON CALL then decide when they wanna take care of the issue apon the the voice mail! The apartment management is fair but when it comes to fixing things the maintenance wants to argue with the renter's and work that needs to be done! Trys to tell the residents they are wrong! My buddy on top floor had to argue that his A.C wasn't working to have them tell him it's running and we are not going to come back out and work on it!! When in fact come to find out it was bad! If you want somthing take care of it and just bill the office the maintenance around here cuts corners to save a dollar!"

"I have lived here going onto my 4th year. For the space and price you get with these apartments, you can't beat it. The office staff has been nothing but nice. Maintenance issues were fixed within a reasonable time (almost always the same day). I truly appreciate that they clear off the snow very quickly. My only issue is with the tenants not cleaning up after their dogs. I have literally seen waste RIGHT NEXT to the provided trash cans and baggies for dogs! Also Wau Lin needs to put some sort of key card on the gate to the pools as they had issues with people being disruptive. However, the pools are rarely if ever full, so you can go and relax without too many people there. Note I have seen people complain about spiders when they lived on the bottom floor. We are in a heavily wooded area, of course you will find spiders!"

"My fiancee and I have been here for three years and are about to sign our new lease for a fourth. I've loved living here over the past few years, especially with bad former experience in another complex in the area, and Marti and Jeanette have always been great to us. The deposits are incredibly affordable, and they're very easy about pets. Living in a serene wooded area in the middle of a business centric area is a huge plus, especially when our back porch overlooks beautiful trees. We live in a top floor that offers a vaulted ceiling too, which is an amazing plus. We don't plan on leaving here for awhile."

"My son and I lived there from 2008, and we left in 2012 because I began attending school in another state. Had we stayed in the Kansas City area, I never would have moved. We loved are two bedroom. We really enjoyed the serene beauty that living in a wooded area provides. Countless times we hit the woods that surrounds the complex to provide a great place for hiking and exploring. All the staff were fantastic, by always providing professional work ethic. Maintenance also did a great job keeping the grounds, pools and common areas clean. Thank you Wau Lin Cree for giving my son and I great memories that will last a lifetime."
