"We love this place I have stayed here different times over the past 35 years love love the entire setup. I stay down on water near fishing dock. Oh wow I miss this place it has been a few years since my last visit"

"Do not waste your time or money. Been going here for 30+ years and had some of the best times of my life ever since I was a kid. The place began to deteriorate badly due to previous neglect even before the new owners. So when the resort was sold I was not expecting a quick fix/remodel at the snap of a finger. Docks were still a mess. Landscaping looked terrible. Grills and picnic furniture were decrepit. Like I said. Wasn’t expecting a quick turnaround. The updated cabins are nice and a major difference from where they were. The updated pool……..it looked nice as long as that’s all you wanted to do…..is look. The pool was closed when we got there and not only were we not informed but we were also told rumors(from reliable sources) that the owner Denise was deliberately telling her employees not to mention anything about it basically until people already made the drive and did not have a choice but to carry out their reservation. The grass was over grown because Denise supposedly chased off the grounds crew leaving the maintenance guy in charge of it USING ONLY A WEED WACKER. She was extremely confrontational and rude to my family. And that was when we could finally manage to even get ahold of her. Most of the people that have associated with the place have either quit or been ran off by Denise. And that includes all the long time customers. She apparently is 911 happy and routinely calls the police on people including someone who tried to bring their SERVICE dog to the resort. We were there mid summer and the place was nearly 70% empty. I have heard The other owners who want to keep this a family friendly resort are actively trying to get rid of her. She has clear ego issues and zero accountability. And is single handedly driving the place into the ground. Notice how she will not respond to any negative reviews. Only until she does the right thing and disassociates herself with blue haven will I consider coming back. But not a second sooner"

"The maintenance man was amazing. Helped us move from one cabin to another. Was sincerely apologetic about issues we were experiencing. He was the only one that seemed to actually care about the property. Pool was not usable upon arrival, and we were never notified if this in advance.vWhen trouble arose Owner would not return calls or texts."

"Has gone completely downhill since it was sold to new owners. The sense of community is gone. Docks are horribly maintained. Seems like there were storms but there was storms even before when I stayed and the previous owners always managed to fix the docks swiftly. All this and you pay way more to stay here. Unbelievable. I remember every time we stayed with the previous owners; they were packed to the brim with guests and often were fully booked. This time only 40% of the resort was full."

"This resort has been sold since I was was here last year. I've been coming fishing at this resort for years. This resort has always been focused around fishing. They have updated the rooms , however one of the boat docks were completely closed and blocked off. I don't come to this resort for the room I come for the fishing. I will never come back to this place. They have lost a long time repeat customer. I'll try one of the other fishing resorts next year."
