"I stayed in the Extended Stay America, Overland Park, KS for a 10-day stay this month. I booked the hotel online for 5 days and extended the stay for 3 days, then an additional 2 days. We live several hours away and came in for an emergency stay while our parents were in the hospital across the street for a hit-and-run accident on Christmas Eve. On the third day we had the HVAC crew do maintenance on the AC and after they left the noise from the AC was worse. Complained to the front desk and took over 24 hrs to fix the complaint. On the 5th day of my stay attempted to do one load of laundry, and wash/dry for $2.00 each, which only accepted credit/debit cards. My card was charged 8n times, totaling $16.00 for a $4.00 load of laundry. Made a complaint at the time of the incident to the employee at the front desk, who proceeded to tell me, “I do not know how to help you and there is a Holiday on Monday, shoulder shrug”. On the 6th day went to the front desk to extend my stay another two days, over the weekend due to hospital updates. This final transaction is charged to my card, I head to my room and see roaches, pack up, and go to the front desk again to explain and check out. The untrained employee is once again unhelpful, as I stand there I continue to see roaches. THEY HAVE ROACHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Management was rude to me and cursing at me when I was trying to get clarification on their pet policy charges. Their employee told me one thing but then they wanted to talk down to me and treat me like I was stupid and then when I tried to defend myself, I was the one that had to vacate. Management is rude, disrespectful and needs to go back to customer service school and learn hospitality."

"I will start by saying I had initially made my reservation for 7 days at this location, I stayed one night and demanded a refund. The front desk was very nice at check in but also sent me to another location which had no availability instead of having some paperwork that was sent to the other location resubmitted to this one. Now to the room..ohh man if I would have seen it in the daylight I would have immediately been out of there. There was a small blood stain on the top blanket, some brown liquid stain on the mattress that could be seen under the fitted sheet. There was some food or some foreign substance on the walls, the counter was sticky and stained, bathroom is old and faucets are corroded and there was not even one single roll of toilet paper. The carpets were so dirty that my white socks turned a shade of gray that turned my stomach. Curtains had stains on them, the back of the remote wasn’t even attached and there was an unpleasant smell throughout the second floor. They did refund me for the rest of the stay but not the first night. I don’t like to complain usually but this was just terrible and until they get things updated and cleaned I would find another place to stay!"

"The floor in the elevator was filthy and it smelled really bad. The floor as you step out of the elevator was very filthy and the carpet was not vacuumed. The room smelled very bad. It didn't smell freshly made at all. Their "breakfast" is a joke. The refrigerator in the room didn't work. It wouldn't get cold at all. There wasn't any soap in the bathroom. We do not recommend this hotel and will not stay there again."
