Hotel Lotus Merriam 9009 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Merriam, KS 66202

"This experience was awful in comparison to our last stay Sept on 2023… My husband and I brought my son and daughter in law to KC for a weekend away from the kids and it was not a great experience. We arrived Friday. Unpacked, freshened up, went shopping, then went to dinner and came back to discover our air conditioner was not working. In fact, the temp rose 4 degrees. We had to switch rooms… let me remind you, this is 4 people who were unpacked! I’m not happy, but what are you going to do? The threshold between the bathroom area and the carpet, was frayed and had tacks or nails sticking up out of it… thankful we didn’t have kids in our room. The free breakfast wasn’t near as good as it was in Sept. they have definitely switched to a can sausage gravy, and the coffee was literally mud! It wasn’t like that last time either! I don’t know what has happened.. Chris (I think he’s a manager) wasn’t his former cheerful self either. Something has changed and not for the better. And to top it off, there wasn’t any compensation for having to repack and unpack our room… not even so much as a coupon. I don’t think we’ll be back, which makes me sad since I loved it so much our first time."

"I cant say enough good about this hotel. It was affordable, clean, the staff was friendly and polite, they have a nice pool and hot tub, they have a wonderful breakfast every morning AND the location is great! The 6 miles into the city is easily navigated within 10 to 15 minutes if thats where you need to be and yet you dont have the shady downtown KC element to be concerned about. We just had to spend 3 weeks in KC at the hospital and my only regret is not finding this hotel sooner."

"Very helpful staff, and the free breakfast was very good. But the ac did not work, I let the staff know and they moved are room but about 1/2 through the night we lost ac in that room also. Also the windows had no screens and where open when we went into the room. We were on the 3rd floor w/ a 3yr old and it would not have be very hard for her to fall through it."

"The management and staff were very pleasant and accommodating to our needs. The room was nice, very clean and included basic necessities. The hot and cold breakfast options were a definite bonus! Hotel Lotus Merriam will be our top choice for future stays in the area."

"This is a very nice clean hotel. The front desk gentleman where very nice on check in and check out. The pool was heated which made it so nice to get in and enjoy it. Hot tub was also perfect temp. They have pancakes for breakfast our kids preferred waffles. My 2 complaints is, that I wish the breakfast was 6am to 9am daily. We are early risers regardless of our travel situations, so an early breakfast would have been nice. The biggest complaint was the kitchen ladies where not happy nor friendly. No one wants to go to breakfast and have mad or annoyed looking workers, regardless the situation. A smile can go a long way."
