"My “stay” at this hotel was the absolute worst hotel experience I have ever experienced. The location is great and there are great restaurants and little shops in the village area which is probably the only thing keeping this hotel afloat, nonetheless, I highly recommend you stay somewhere else. My wife went to the lobby to get a snack and asked the front desk attendant if there was any complimentary water. He told her that she was verbally abusing him and told her that she had to vacate the property. She asked him why he would say that and he kept saying that she needed to leave immediately. She told him that her husband (me) was asleep in our room and that she had to get me. She came in and woke me up and told me that she was ordered to leave the hotel cause she had asked the front desk attendant if there was more than 1 bottle of complimentary water per room and that he was ordering that she leave the hotel. I then got dressed and we went to the front desk to discuss the situation. I asked him to explain the situation and why he was telling my wife that she had to leave the hotel. He said that she was very rude to him and was complaining about there not being complimentary water available. I asked him why he would feel it was necessary to kick her (us) out for that and asked him if he had any training in hospitality or customer service. He then said that we both had to leave the hotel. It was 1am! He said that we had to leave immediately or he would call the police. I asked him to please call the police. Once he called the police he told them that he had 2 intoxicated and disorderly guests and that he wanted us off the property. I just got through a bout of cancer and don’t drink and my wife hadn’t drank either. She’s a cancer survivor too. We waited for the police to arrive and after talking to them for a bit they said that he felt that we were verbally abusive to him and that he wanted us off the property. The police escorted us to our room where we had to quickly pack our belongings and leave the property. Because of his accusations that we were drunk, at first the police weren’t going to let us get in our car to leave. I requested that we both get breathalyzers which to no surprise we blew 0.000. The police then said that we could get in our car but we both were issued a trespassers warning and told that if we were to come back to the hotel, that it would then become a criminal offense. I couldn’t believe that this had happened. I’ve never in my entire life experienced anything like this before. We drove around going to various hotels that were each sold out due to it being St Patty’s until we finally found a hotel that had a room available. The next day I called the aloft to speak with the manager about the night before. I spoke with the manager on duty who had checked us in the day prior. I asked him if he had gotten the report from the night before and he coldly said that the case was closed and he wasn’t going to do anything to rectify the situation. I asked if the cameras that were in the lobby were in operation with audio and he said that it didn’t matter, that the case was closed and not to ever come back to the hotel. Call ended. I’ve reached out to several executive management members in hopes of rectifying this horrendous experience. The hotel that we ended up getting a room at was also a Marriott and was very nice and we had a great stay. So don’t discredit all Marriott brands, but I do not recommend staying at this hotel whatsoever."
"The rooms are serviceable, very much intended for someone visiting the business park. Even after being fixed, the thermostat wouldn't get the a/c unit to run enough to maintain a temperature and could not make fan run constantly so got very hot. Also, it was very noisy and I could easily hear the person in the room next to me talking and watching tv."
"We loved that this hotel is located in a very nice & trendy area of KC. However, our room was very dirty and not up to par with Marriott standards. We had towels with lipstick on them and the sheets were stained all the way through the mattress protector. Not only that, the toilet didn’t flush properly, there were several loose screws located in the corner of our room & a plug broken in the socket; which thankfully we didn’t realize till the end of our stay but was a definite fire safety issue. Thankfully the desk clerk (Marisol) was very accommodating and apologetic for the state of the room. She was clearly running things alone in the evening and yet she was at the top of her customer service game. We were very thankful to her for being so willing to fix the problems to the best of her abilities. Overall the stay was far below sub par due to the overall lack of cleanliness and the fire hazard that the outlet posed to us. We would highly encourage management to take a closer look at the cleanliness of rooms & safety for their guests; solely surface level clean is not acceptable for any Marriott franchise. We would appreciate if management reached out to us regarding these issues, as it was more than just a cleanliness matter."
"Horrible hotel and staff. Front desk staff is never at the desk. On a busy Friday night with multiple people trying to check in there is only 1 staff on duty. They are usually gone with a sign says Be Right Back. The beds in hotel room are not Queens. They can barely be called double beds they are so tiny. There in no privacy in the bathroom. They use a barn door style to separate the toilet/shower area from the sink/ mirror. Since you cannot close the door all the way you can hear everything when someone is using the restroom. There is only 1 light switch that works. The lights do not work over the bed and if you have to get up in the middle of the night to use restroom, only 1 light switch will work, which turns on all lights in bathroom area. The staff have no personality and very cold. The front desk staff doesn't seem to be able to think for herself. She is very difficult to have a conversation with and seems to know nothing. This hotel looks like it was an old parking garage that they tried to turn into a hotel. The finishes are very rough. We will never stay here ever again and don't waste your money staying here. A motel 6 would be better."
"We stayed at this hotel for a soccer tournament this past weekend. We had to park in a parking garage, there was not a lot attached to the hotel. The check-in desk was located on the 2nd floor and not the ground floor - kind of awkward. The person who checked us in gave us no details about the hotel other than handing us our keys. We asked about breakfast as we were told by our club there would be a complimentary breakfast. There was, but it was warm yogurt (no ice bucket to keep it cold), granola bars that tasted like they were a year old, and 2 different kinds of juice. There was absolutely no protein in sight. We had to go offsite to get a good breakfast for our athlete. We had 3 light switches, but only 2 worked. We ended up in a handicapped room and the shower and toilet were in one area while the sink was out on the other side of the door. The shower/toilet area did not have a separate light, so whoever showered first woke up everyone else because the lights came on near the beds. I don't know if it was the handicapped room, but the water from the shower went everywhere...even leaked out into the sink area. The air conditioning was inconsistent in the room. We went down around 7am on Sunday for checkout. Waited several minutes and no one ever showed up at the front desk. We asked another staff member if they could get us checked out, only to be told the lady who was working was in the bathroom and would be back soon. After 10 minutes I left my keys and a note because no one showed up and no one else stepped in to help. The hall carpets are stained, the rooms need updating and the staff could be more friendly. The hotel was located about 15 minutes from the soccer fields and has a lot of shopping around it. We did not walk around, but the area seemed ok. I will not be back to this hotel and I would not recommend."
