"Taqueria Santa Cruz, is this you? The holy grail of burritos in Kansas City has been found, and I hate to reveal the secret. There’s nothing glamorous to this place, but I prefer it that way. It’s a classic no-nonsense Mexican restaurant that you’d find on most corners of SoCal but haven’t existed here in KC until now. The burritos are loaded and flavorful. Plenty of options. Without a doubt, the best burrito in Kansas City. Stay small, and don’t leave Shawnee! Now keep this secret between us."

"It’s just a small place no fancy decor or anything but it’s not needed, the food has consistently tasted fresh and delicious. Tried a few items now and each time, the vegetables used taste fresh and the food cooked well. Very tasty stuff here."

"This is a small size restaurant with a simple design. You're not paying for an extravagant atmosphere, just a simple spot for food. I spoke with the manager and he recommended a steak and shrimp burrito. It was a little pricey, but it was also so big I only ate half and saved the rest for later. They had three choices of sauces. I tried the red colored mild and the green colored medium. They both had quite a bit of zing and a lot of flavor. The steak in my burrito was quite good. Tender and flavorful. The shrimp was good too. They didn't overcook it, which is the usual at other restaurants. Overall I thought the food was good and the staff was polite. The tables were clean so I didn't see any aftermath from the lunch rush. I find most places let the garbage linger these days so I was happy to not see that here. If you are tired of chipotle, I recommend trying it."
