"This is my favorite local swim and paddle spot. Yes you do need to pay for parking if during the summer season. But it keeps the park maintained and clean. Even when it’s busy people are respectful and the water temperature is so perfect for swimming!"
"Very peaceful lake, love walking my dog around. The nature trail is beautiful and secluded but sometimes can be very muddy and slippery so dress appropriately. The playground is fun for kids, and the covered picnic area is a nice break from the sun or rain."
"Hands down our favorite place to go kayaking!!! Easy parking, water is always clear and it's super easy to launch our kayaks. Highly recommend!!!!"
"It's getting pretty busy but for good reason. Turner has done a great job transforming this old Gravel Pit into a beautiful public space for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding or just floating around. There is a playground, a covered area, a nice grassy area, a few docks and they even trucked in a bunch of sand. If you can get off the busy public area and into the water it can be a very relaxing and pleasant place to go. Note: During the summer they do man the booth and charge $10 per car (2023). They do not allow dropoffs and pickups. And they do ticket people who do not have a pass."
"Aside from $10 parking, this has been our favorite paddleboarding spot this summer. The area is always clean and everyone is friendly. Sometimes it gets a little windy out on the water, but we can't complain since it is minutes away from home in Salem."
