"Love swimming here. The water is as warm as bath water, and there's a rock to jump off"
"It's awesome here. The water is clean and clear and beautiful. The views are amazing and there is a rock you can swim to, climb up and jump off. It's June of 2023 and the lake is very full so it's a great swim area and there is a nice sandy beach to post up on. There is near by camp grounds as well. There are no bathrooms or potable water here. And if you bring trash you need to pack put trash because there are no trash cans. And there are bears so don't leave food in your vehicles. If you decide to spend time here please leave it cleaner then when you arrived. Pick up trash please if you see it. I like to enjoy these special places let's keep them just as nice for our kids in the future."
"When the lakes full its the best spot get there around 10 am to get the best spots available"
"Been coming here since I was a kid. Late summer the water is VERY low (as pictured) but when its higher it's fun to float or swim at"
"I give it 5 stars because it's a place I've visited my entire life and I love it but it's hard to rate a wilderness area, especially a body of water because, over the years, it's been very hit and miss on being able to actually swim there. As of September 2021 it's not a good place to swim because there is almost no water. Applegate Reservoir has enough water to swim but not Carberry. So, as for being a swim area, right now it sucks. But when there is water it is a lot of fun and really great. There are rocks to jump off of, calm swimming holes, and a nice beach area. It's popular enough that you usually get to be around other people and families but it's never crowded and sometimes it's just you and the wild. It's also kind of far from town, the closest one being Ruch (about 16 miles), where the store closes early and there is no gas station until you get to Jacksonville (about 24 miles), and the closest hospital is Medford (about 30 miles) so you want to make sure you pack accordingly."
