"Portland youth builders is an amazing place for the youth that go there my son is learning construction and the staff are amazing and they helped out with a lot of different things not just getting your GED and learning a trade I recommend Portland youth builders for anyone who didn't have success in HS."
"Email them about their youthbuilders program the still have yet to get back to me not to mention they did not expect me for the past 4 year it was excuse after excuse on why i was not accepted like i dont live in the area even though i do or i turn the paper in at the wrong location."
"Well I’m very upset. Will try to keep short. Was Denied into the program because they said I tested, just at the passing level of both math, and reading. There problem was they didn’t wanna spend the time, and thought it would take me too long to get the GED, while doing onsite worth for there tech program. Program last 6-9 months and claimed I’d take 12 months, spending more time in classroom then on the tech site. Me being 24, struggling trying to rebuild my life, The director then says the kids there are 17-18 year olds building up there Life as young adults, and that I’m in a different place in life. The program says 17-26 year olds, so I’m thinking “what’s the point, and why does that matter” I felt judged, and discriminated against, and as a single dad I had moved work to part time to work around this program. Would not recommend"
"I got my GED here and a staff is very supportive and there for you no matter what background you have. They have a great Construction and Technology Program. There's even a chance of being job lead in construction or technology whichever path you choose before entering the program. And they help you get entry into apprenticeships if that's the route you want to take. What other program can you get all that and an Americorps scholarship on top of it."
"I am impressed with this organization, there has been an amazing change in my son since he found and started attending this school. I am extremely proud of his dedication and accomplishments. And I intend on doing what I can to keep this program going. I would recommend this program to others. I have mentioned it to a few contractors in hopes they have resources to help them. I would like to thank the person(s) that started this program. Lynne Hibbs"
