SpringHill Suites by Marriott Shreveport-Bossier City/Louisiana Downs 8010 East Texas Street, Bossier City, LA 71111

"Dark and creepy While the staff are friendly, this Springhill location is in dire need of a refresh. The rooms are very dark with that 15 watt yellow look. No one could read a book in these rooms. Speaking of lights, the fixtures have seen some wear and tear. The large floor model would not function (see photo). The desk chair no longer rolled and the desk has been chewed on by some local beavers (see photos). There was something all over the glass divider at the top of the desk. The sink lighting was far too dim to shave by sight. One had to use a feel technique and hope for the best. The couch has stains (photo) and the carpet is just dirty. I resisted taking my shoes off as long as possible, but alas I had to retire for the evening. Once the shoes were off and I walked across the floor, my sock stuck to something sticky on the carpet. I’ve never had that experience in my considerable travel experiences. The shower was a treat (photos) with the head leaking up towards the ceiling. The shower temp control was either freezing cold or scalding. Excellent choice as one starts another day on the road. I wish I could recommend another Marriott property in the area, but most similar issues in the Shreveport area."

"Absolutely worst experience i ever had 1st they put me in someone elses room. Then they put me in another room looked fine at first glance i settle in and noticed a spider on the floor no big deal typical Louisiana stuff come to find out the floor was dirty looked around there was a random girls hair tie so i know the room was at bare minimum cleaned. I woke up next morning and there was a BED BUG on the sheets i was laying in.."

"Beds - very comfortable. Staff friendly However the room was ever so noisy. We could hear the next door's TV and then hear them snoring all through the night. The air conditioner was very noisy. So much so we couldn't run it at night and I could hear someone else's coming on and off during the night. The room has nowhere out of the way to open up our suitcases let alone somewhere off the floor to place them. The bathroom's fan kept on randomly coming on and off during the night. I think it is supposed to come on when you go in and turn off when you exit. Not ideal during the night when it was a noisy fan and you are trying not to disturb your room mate. Finally a very weak shower and the body wash was empty which meant we had to use the bar of soap they provided which was tiny and unsuited for the shower. The bath tub was rusted around the over flow and plug. Very dim lighting in room but I find that in most places so it is a universal issue not confined this place."

"Staying at this SpringHill Suites Marriott in Shreveport/Bossier has been my worst stay ever. While at work my belongings were rank-sacked by the Marriott staff. They went through my suitcase, bags and dirty clothes. They stole my chain, shorts, t-shirts, tank tops , sweater and even my draws. The same were stolen from several other guess. My items wore not replaced and they have yet to replace them. Several days later after already leaving the hotel for my safety, they tell me that they found my drawers and other belongings labeled in a bag in the “lost in found”! I’m not making this up. Unbelievable . The perfect place to stay if you want to get robbed."

"Stayed overnight on a business trip. Check-in/out was a breeze. The room was nice and cozy. Cleanliness met expectations. No body wash in the shower, but shampoo/conditioner were filled. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was simple but delicious. I will stay again!"
