"I just wanna start off by saying i have never formally complained on a business....so im in Louisiana at a job, and was having some problems with my welder. With welders equipment being the only place in town, guess where im headed. I pull up and was greeted by a fellow who helped me unload the welder i told him what issues i was having, he told me no problem, we can have it done by friday 8/31. (This was tuesday 8/27 that i dropped it off) Being that they said it would be done Friday, on Friday mid morning i try to make contact to see what time i can pickup. No answer. I get a voicemail at 3:35pm from the "manager" saying, "its not running very good still, were not gonna have it down before the weekend". Wonderful! Now i get to go spend more money and hang out in a hotel room in a unfamiliar town until this thing is fixed. (i was supposed to be going back home saturday) Finally Tuesday i get a call back from the mechanic saying that they could definatly have it done by the following friday 9/7 (which i was not happy about) and it would cost $525 or $545 i cant remember which. At this point i just wanna go home and i want my welder, so i agree to pay the $525 or $545 whatever it was. .......So here we are at friday 9/7, what a wonderful out of town experience, never thought id get so much "me" time in a hotel. I go to pickup the welder and the "manager" proceeds to tell me that i owe them $716 something dollars. Needless to say, i am furious, i feel like i was completely taken advantage of, and being a out of towner they knew they had me by the balls. So let me recap. Was told it would be fixed by friday 8/31, was fixed a week later Was never contacted before friday to tell me they could not fix it before the weekend (had they have done that i would have picked it up and gone home) Spent $250 on a hotel......waiting......... Was told it would be $525 or $545 whatever it was over the phone I get there and it was $716 Do yourself a favor all you welders out there in Alexandria, La. drive a little farther to the next town to get your welder worked on."
