"TLDR: My friend and my dog were viciously attacked and bitten by a dog that got loose in the vet's lobby. The vet failed to comply with Oregon law by not reporting the dog bite to the county and they were uncooperative in my attempts to report the incident to the county myself. They have also refused to share their insurance information so my friend and I can file a claim for her medical bills. My friend took my dog, Olive, to the Oregon Humane Society - Community Veterinary Hospital (CVH) on my behalf while I was out of town. While my friend and Olive were waiting for Olive's appointment in the CVH lobby, another client's dog got loose in the lobby and attacked Olive and my friend, breaking skin on my friend's arm and causing a large laceration and abrasion on Olive's shoulder, which required stitches. My friend and Olive were ushered into an exam room and the owner of the dog who attacked them left the facility before either of them came back out. My friend and I repeatedly asked CVH for the dog owner's information, but CVH repeatedly refused to share any information with us except that the dog was vaccinated for rabies. Nearly 24 hours after the incident, I called Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) to ask if CVH had reported the dog bite. They informed me that CVH had not reported it. Oregon law clearly states that all dog bites need to be reported "immediately" and that the dog needs to be observed for rabies for 10 days, regardless of the dog's vaccination status. Not only did CVH fail to comply with Oregon law by not reporting the dog bite themselves, but they were also uncooperative in my attempts to report the incident to MCAS by refusing to share the dog owner’s information with my friend or myself. Additionally, at the recommendation of the veterinary staff, my friend visited urgent care on to treat the bite wound. I have requested CVH to share their insurance information with me 5 times over the past 6+ weeks so my friend and I can file a claim for her medical bills for the injury she sustained on their property. They have refused to share this information with us. This vet does not comply with very basic Oregon laws and I strongly recommend taking your service elsewhere."

"Got my baby Mac at the Humane Society and have had to go to the hospital 3x to get her follow up vaccines. She is all done for a year! I have really enjoyed my experience with OHS. I like the staff, the vets and techs, the little store, and I love my kitty sooo much. So thankful I found her!!!! we are the best of friends. Thanks to everyone at the humane society that helped me along the way, it’s been very pleasant!"
"Thanks to Oregon Humane for a cost-friendly and no-pressure, efficient service. Really appreciate your services for the community. Some Appointments may be difficult to get, due to popularity, but other than that, everyone is a pleasure to work with."
"Oh man I can’t speak any higher than this place it was phenomenal. The staff were extremely helpful and kind and just so loving to our poor Eazy!! He was scared and needed stitches!! We are so grateful to the Vet techs and the amazing Dr. That helped us with our boy. He was so well taken care of and seriously have no idea what we would’ve done hadn’t it been for this amazing facility. They offer financial assistance. And that was so helpful during the holiday season and I can’t stress enough how grateful we are to have had the opportunity and honor to receive services here."
