"Our experience with Big 5 has been ok. They usually have something along the lines of what we need, they don't have enough floor space to have multiples of options on items so I totally get it. Prices are a bit spendy compared to online prices, but again that's to be expected. Staffing is usually pretty non existent but again you don't really see very many in a specialized sporting goods store so that's normal too. Honestly I'm happy to still have them in the area, times have got to be tough and they're providing a well needed service for the area otherwise big box stores are all we'd have locally and they never have enough of anything. Thanks Big 5 for hanging in there."

"I needed shoes and was having no luck with other retailers in the area. I went into Big 5 and found the shoe area. Large wall of single shoes. Not a soul around to help. I wanted a pair of black New Balance in a wide width. Most of the shoes on the shoe wall had no indication they were or weren't available in wide width. Still no one around to assist. Finally, in frustration, I left the store. As I was leaving, I stumbled upon 3 employees hanging at the front of the store having a chit chat. As I walked by, one asked if I had found what I was looking for and I replied, NOPE and left the store. I wouldn't have had the largest purchase of the day but maybe I would have been back over and over. Most likely, I won't be back at all."
