Tacoma Needle Exchange - S 14th & G St
About the Business
The Tacoma Needle Exchange at S 14th & G St is a health institution located at 1401 South G Street in Tacoma, Washington, United States. Founded in 1988 by Dave Purchase, the institution provides syringe exchange services to help address the HIV/AIDS epidemic by providing new injection supplies to drug users. By using new syringes and injection supplies, participants minimize the risks of contracting blood borne viruses associated with drug use. The institution also aims to build trust with participants in order to engage in conversations about drug use, sex practices, and other issues. Participants are encouraged to bring their used injection supplies to the exchange sites in order to receive new ones. The institution's outreach staff has strong relationships with service providers in the South Puget Sound region and can refer participants to appropriate providers when needed.
