"Josh is a nice guy, and has given me some good cuts, but I am reeling after my haircut today. I’ve been going here for a few months, and came in about 6 weeks after my previous cut to get it cleaned up. After almost two years of carefully growing it out, I was finally happy with my flowing, nearly shoulder length hair. We discussed taking an inch or so off, and layering it more to frame my face better, because I no longer care to tie my hair back. He suggested taking a bit more length off the top than usual (normally it’s the hair in front that’s the limitation for tying it back), and proceeded to whack off 4-5” of length. The waves are gone, and now I recoil at my reflection. I don’t know what was lost in translation, but I’m crushed, and it’s going to be 6+ months before my hair is back at the length I wanted. It’s not a “bad” cut, it’s just nothing like what I wanted or what was discussed. Beyond disappointed, and I will be for a long time. Sticking to salons for my long hair in the future."
