"My brother and I used to ride our bikes down there and spend our allowance on candy and soda! I got the chance to go back there while were stationed at Fort Lewis from 2009-2011. I took my wife around to show her where we used to live, and she went in to see it as well. Gosh, those aisles were so narrow! Just seeing the old wood floors took me back to my childhood. I used to buy the ORIGINAL Swedish Fish she had up on the counter in the jar by the dollar's worth. She would put them in a paper sack, and I would eat them all in like a day or two! Anyway...when we walked in, and the lady/owner(I can't remember her name) looked at me...and ACTUALLY remembered me! How weird was that?! It must've been 20+ years since I last walked in that door. I wish I would've taken a picture with her as a memory of that place. Glad to see it is still around. That is a GENUINE neighborhood icon! It is also nice to see the Pizza Kitchen is still open as well."
