"I do enjoy stopping in this lovely little general store. Unfortunately, I have not had a great experience with the coffee mugs that are sold there. I purchased two mugs in December and within 2-3 months both of them have hairline cracks in them. And this after normal use…hand washed and cared for very well. The coffee mugs are “The bowl maker” ones that are very beautiful in design, but very cheaply made. I went back to the store to ask what could be done and the manager said, “how do I know you didn’t bump them and that is what caused them to crack”. 22 years in the military and I have learned what integrity is about, so I did not like that very much. And she said “that was a long time ago when you purchased them” and I said “it was only 2 to 3 ago”!! Needless to say, she told me she would have the owner contact me and they have not. One of the other ladies also said you’re supposed to pour hot water in them before you put your coffee in…. That’s new to me when using a coffee mug. Been drinking coffee for over 30 years.. Also very coincidental that both of them have cracked. Beware before purchasing if you wanna enjoy hot liquids. Maybe use them strictly for decoration? Or just avoid them entirely? They cost $20 each."
