"The store is clean and the staff are helpful. It's in a strip mall with several shopping options and generally not "too" busy except the usual holidays. I usually find what I'm looking for inside."

"OVERPRICED. Now that it's owned by Kroger it's even more of a garbage shopping experience than it ever was. My biggest gripe is the idiotic coupon process. You have to literally spend time on your phone before you can get their discounts. The most absurd part about that is they disable their app around their stores so if you're trying to do this in your car before heading in to shop, you're not able to. Atrocious customer experience. Don't shop here. Kroger cares only about corporate profits. Case in point.. why can't they just apply these discounts at the register? It's because they don't want to give you any discount they want to make you work for it. Shop at WinCo or Chucks (especially for produce). The prices & quality are far superior."

"My experience IN Safeway was great, but when I came out (after about 15-20 minutes) there was a concrete truck behind me blocking the exit of my parking space. Fortunately, I was able to do a multi-position backout and squeaked out of the space. Disappointing but probably not Safeway's fault."

"What an awful day to shop Safeway in Hazel Dell - not only have they got the store messed up with a remodel, the aisles are so narrow 2 carts can barely pass, and between 10:30 & 11:00 am there was only one checker. When I finally got to the checkout there were 8 people behind me. My ice cream was MELTED and my patience was not up for the cashiers cheerful chatter about making milkshakes....Was of course overcharged for a couple items, but no one home in customer service either!!!! This was totally messed up & if I hadn't needed the cartful of groceries I'd have left without them. I won't even get into the cluster the deli has become since the change in management & employees."
