"Had a terrible experience at this store. They didn't have the size of jeans I wanted so the girl said they could order them. Ok cool. So I go to the counter where she pulls up my account from probably 6 years ago and I tell her that's the wrong address and it's in my daughter's name, so we need to change both. So she proceeds to make my own account. After putting in my name and phone number and my birthday, she scans the jeans that I want to order and then hands me a receipt. She says okay, you should have your jeans in 5 to 7 days. I said but you didn't change my address! She says oh shoot! Let me call my manager. So the manager comes over and says I'm sorry after an order has been placed, we can't change anything. You'll have to call corporate. So the next morning I call the corporate office. They tell me they can't change the address either because it has to be done within the first hour of placing the order and that my jeans have already been shipped (to my old address). So instead of giving me a credit right then, she says wait until you get an email that says your order has been delivered, then wait 72 hours and then call us back. So I have to wait 10 days before I can order new jeans? She says oh you can go ahead and place another order now and will credit the other order in about 10 days, of course allowing up to another 7 days for the credit to go through. So you're telling me I have to pay another $90 for your screw up? I will never shop here again!"
"Walked in to pick up my online order and the young woman at the front told me to wait for my order. She said it’s not ready so I said do they have a possible ETA. She ran off and I waited. Then I looked around the corner and she’s folding clothes. I went to the front to ask what going on my order from what I was told was the “manager”. She said she cancelled I asked why and she said I don’t know and it’s not her concern and that I can take it up with corporate. This makes no sense. Not once have I walked into a restaurant and when I say what I want to order they say it’s not their concern. What is mentally wrong with these girls. If your going to have a big girl job you have to act like a big girl."
"I had a terrible experience at the tanasborne store today. Usually when I go to American Eagle I have at least four employees asking if they can help me find anything- this location… nothing, when I wanted to try on clothes the girl looked so annoyed to have to help me get into a dressing room, and then when I went to check out I showed my student ID, as every other American Eagle location gives a discount if you’re a student, and she was like “nope, we don’t do that. Can’t help you”. I put back the jeans I wanted to wear to thanksgiving and got out of there."
"I've been to this location many times dating back to middle school/high school yeaes. Have always loved their jeans and even though this location is the closest, i would rather go to the one out in Washington square. I don't understand what it is but everytime i have gone I've had the WORST customer service, i don't know if it's because I'm curvy or because I'm old(late 20s). I thought i was crazy for so long and just over exaggerating, but EVERYTIME they welcome the young and skinny women coming in, ask if they need anything, ask if they need a dressing room; i waited 10 minutes(i know not bad) while these girls look at me standing for a dressing room and continue talking; then this other girl comes up and helps me but didn't ask for my name. A few seconds later another person wants a dressing room, gets help right away, writes her name down, and asks if there is a different size they need to get. I've been so fed up with this place and not being equal, we're not in highschool, customer service is a thing, and we are in 2022 the world is changing and people need to realize not everyone will be 00."
"Very frustrating experience at the Tanasbourne American Eagle. We arrived at the store 1 hour prior to closing. After we were there 15 minutes, I overheard an employee tell another customer that the dressing rooms would be closing in 15 minutes. Confused, I asked the employee if the store was closing in 15 minutes and she said no, that they close the dressing rooms 30 minutes before the store closes. We then rushed to choose more items for my daughter to try on. They physically roped off the dressing rooms so it was impossible to leave to try to find different sizes. This was THIRTY MINUTES prior to the store closing. We live 5 hours away and could not just return another day. It is completely unreasonable to close the dressing rooms so far ahead of closing times. The employees did not ask if we needed assistance with other sizes or styles. What should have been a $300+ shopping trip was a $70 trip due to such a terrible experience. As a comparison, Plato’s Closet Beaverton offered exceptional customer service and a far superior experience. D- American Eagle."
