"absolutely disgusting these animals need to be released"
"I received a card from PETA in the mail with very disturbing picture from the UW Madison Research Laboratory . There was a yellow tabby with prongs in his skull and was made deaf for a sound study for hearing experimentation. It made me sick, this has been going on for 40 yrs, by Tom Yin, a chinese experimenter, he has been experimented on 30 cats/kittens a year. I read the report of Tom Yin, it was a unsuccessful study. All those poor innocent pets are now deaf and have tortured for nothing. the UW Madison Research Laboratory has 5 Citation for bad protocol the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) conducted a routine inspection of UW Madison Laboratory Research animal center, they issued 5 citations. Nov. 2016 , was expired medication, during Jan. to Nov. 2016 4 incidents of monkeys' interactions with other monkey's still in their enclosures resulted in injuries to animals that required medical treatment, there was juice spilled in the freezer it created slush. A citation for contamination, it was an old freezer, had to be replaced. On Dec.28, 2016. a monkey was found dead in its social housing of injuries inflicted by an older monkey. The monkey was already recovering from injuries acquired in Dec. 24 altercations with the oler animal. On Jan. 25, 2016 staff found a dead mice in the laboratory cage. another mouse living in the shared cage was found to be weak and unhealthy, and was euthanized. Records revealed the food containers for the mice had not been refilled properly. The unfortunate loss of the mice led to retraining of lab workers, monitoring of the animals in the lab, This is so sad and barbaric, God put these innocent creatures on this earth to love not torture and abuse. This experimentation needs to stop, these poor innocent pets do not have a voice, but they have a heart and they are forever forgiving, unlike humans. This needs to stop NOW, there is no reason to be experimenting on God's creatures. Amen !!!!"
"I am speechless. Before writing this I had to think for a long time about what I was going to say. I've heard from your students first hand and read online about the cruel research you do to cats. This is unbelievable. Cats are not like small mice. Being in the animal research field you should know this without me even needing to explain why!!! This has got to be a sick joke. I have had pictures sent to my phone from a couple friends who are students there and know someone who has access to this area. I asked for them because I thought this couldn't be true. The world we live in is far to advanced to be using such horrible procedures still. I have 3 cats at home and they are everything to me. They feel pain, I can tell what is wrong by just looking in their eyes. They are funny, sensitive, loving, affectionate, happy. They are intelligent. The love from them is endless so how can you stand there watching them suffer. I DO NOT CARE what condition these cats are in; young, old, brain damaged, deaf, etc. This is no different than using dogs. I pray to God you can open your heart and mind and actually be human and have feelings so that you understand how sad this is. How sick. You think they do not feel the pain? What do we gain from this use of cats? Nothing. There are hundreds of colleges who do not use cats that have extremely intelligent students and significant research. But they do not use such a CRUEL process. This is spreading fast. You can try as hard as you like to keep this secretive but when something is as sick and wrong as this the word will get out regardless. EVERYONE PLEASE PASS THIS ON. Whether you love animals or not please understand that nothing should feel pain for human pleasure. I don't care if it is 1 cat a year or 30 a day. This is not science. This is not research. This is not helping us with cancer treatments. We are intelligent people and we ALL know there are other ways to do research. What is this teaching our children??? That it is ok to torture animals. That hurting something you have power over is fun and easy? University of Wisconsin I am disappointed in you. Absolutely shocked you could turn into such a pathetic place. Please for humanities sake stop this."
"The Madison Research Animal Resources Center is conducting experiments on cats. 30 cats a year at UW-Madison are starved, deafened, and decapitated for brain research that hasn't accomplished its goals of improving human hearing. The animals live in a state of fear, pain and confusion which ultimately ends with their death. The RARC seeks to justify their "research" and methodology by any means possible. There is no reasoning with people who are innately unconcerned with the welfare of sentient creatures who are simply regarded as tools for use as they please. All funding should be stripped immediately from the RARC, charges laid against all responsible and the cruelty ceased."
