LeafFilter Gutter Protection

"This review will focus on service and warranty, pricing discrimination is a common practice and you shall decide how much you are willing to pay. If anyone has similar experience, please reach out. Us, consumers, require upfront transparency and we shall not support business that mislead us. Job completed on 12/20/22. First storm came in less than two weeks of install, and the water was running over the filter/gutter down the gutter sprout and stucco. Filed warranty claim on 1/4/23. 1st repair, they came out after a couple of months (March). Technician put on a couple splash guards, but was not long enough so water still run off. 2nd repair, technician came and said there is nothing that they can do because its an issue with the roof. Left without performing any work. 3rd repair (August), technician came over and said the same thing the gutter is higher than the roof. Removed the splash guard that 1st technician did and put it elsewhere, then left. Since then, LeadFilter has not replied to my emails. Filed BBB complaint. Someone reached out, but claimed the issue is caused by pre-existing condition of my roof and offered to re-install the gutter if I get the the roof fixed. But, below are my questions: It seems like Leaf Filter's warranty only promise there will be no clogging and not the water will actually go into the gutter. If this is the case, then what's the point of having the gutter if it does not actually direct the water? Could I have just blocked off the gutter and have the water run off the roof everywhere? If there is a concern with how the gutter is installed and that it may impact performance of LeafFilter, shouldn't that be raised at the point of contract/estimate? Their website clearly indicate "2 Repair Any Damage Next, we check for any areas of concern to identify parts of your gutter system that may need extra attention." I am the new owner of the house and I later found out that previous owner had LeafFilter installed and removed/refunded because it did not work. How is LeafFilter not aware of this? Shouldn't this be documented?"

"We hired LeafFilter to install a leaf filtration system and replace several runs of gutter. After the gutter installation, we noticed a ring of water on the patio directly under one of the new gutters. Upon inspecting the gutter above, we discovered LeafFilter installed a screw too low in the side of the gutter wall where moisture was dripping out. The tech sent to our home to inspect the damage removed the screw and reattached the gutter. After he left, we looked at the gutter and saw water standing on the other side of the downspout opening down the length of the gutter. The tech (Logan) in reattaching the gutter screwed up the slope. In a storm, water will collect at the other end of the gutter and not exit the downspout. We spoke to the manager and he said we were liars about the water standing and he trusted his tech. Wow. He then agreed to send a training supervisor out. He is refusing to replace the damaged gutter since it could be caulked for the lifetime under warranty. When Braden shows up with his sales suitcase, buyer beware. UPDATE. Photo of water standing in gutter this morning after rain on Friday. Also chunks of roof framing found thrown in drain rocks. No caulking in holes. Impossible for us to prime and paint exposed wood without removing gutter. FINAL: After posting this review, LeafFilter asked the gutter installer to come back out to the house and replace the gutter run that was not properly installed. We have changed from 2 to 4 stars our rating of this business."

"Not Suitable for a North-facing or Shaded Roof. Estimator said: Maintenance free. Installer said: Maintenance free. Following installation in October of 2023, I've got a new maintenance task with every rainstorm. Organic particles from roof moss, combined with roofing minerals used to settle harmlessly to the bottom of the gutter. Leaf Filter's fine mesh catches every bit of that, resulting in a sludge coating on top of the gutter guard, with the result that water from a downpour cascades over and behind the gutter. We've got water exposure to the soffit and to the window set below. I've done what I can to remove the moss and clear the roof, but the cascade experience continues. I expect that removal of the Leaf Filter will be the right answer. I'm working on that - and my $5000 spent - with Leaf Filter. The folks at Leaf Filter should know better than to sell this particular (pun intended) installation."

"Everything about this company is EXCELLENT. From original inquiry to installation, to follow-up. Honestly, these leaf filters are so fabulous, I cannot say enough great things about them. My house is covered by a GIGANTIC pine tree which rains down pine needles all year long. The filters have kept my gutters clear and working with no problems. I highly encourage anyone who is thinking about them to give them a call!"
