"I posted this review a year ago but it disappeared, so I am reposting it with an update at the end: We’ve been bringing our pets here for a couple years. For the most part everyone has been friendly, but we’ve run into some serious problems this past year. The main issue seems to be that there is no consistency of care, as appointments are scheduled with whichever vet happens to be available. This wouldn’t be a huge deal except it’s also become extremely apparent that no one on staff reads the notes about prior visits. Every time we have to answer basic questions like our pet has never been there before, even if we were just in a couple weeks or days earlier. My fiancé was even asked today if we have other pets at home by a doctor who saw two of them simultaneously just a couple months ago. I do not expect veterinarians to remember every pet that comes in to their office, but I do expect them to have at least reviewed our file and know why we’re visiting. What’s more concerning to me is that on multiple occasions we have come in for a follow-up visit or to get a test that was recommended by one doctor, only to be told that the new doctor disagrees with those recommendations and would like to try something different (usually more medicine, follow-up visits, or tests that won’t actually be done). Typically to then come back again and see a third vet who also recommends something different. This cycle has repeated with two of our pets. I wanted to give the staff the benefit of the doubt the first time. Our cat was elderly and at the end of his life and it felt like the staff just didn’t want to tell us that it was time to let him go until it was too late. But now seeing the same thing happen trying to get treatment for our dog for a (thankfully) minor issue, I’m wishing I’d trusted my gut and taken our cat elsewhere for a second opinion. I’m sad to write this review because I do think everyone here is kind and well-intentioned for the most part. But ultimately the extreme disorganization at this practice has cost us thousands of dollars, plenty of lost hours, and most importantly, has caused suffering and delayed treatment for our pets. If you have senior pets or pets with on-going health issues I’d recommend taking them elsewhere. An update is: our dog was treated by Shadowridge for years for “allergies” that never seemed to improve even with shots every 4-6 weeks and years of pills. Shortly after I wrote the review above last year and switched practices because of our concerns we found out our dog actually has chronic dry eye disease, not allergies. Shadowridge never tested him for this and after being incorrectly treated he had developed Horner’s Syndrome, which likely could have been avoided with earlier detection and treatment. It’s very disappointing since now that I’ve learned more about his condition, it seems that the vets at this practice should have identified it years ago. It would have saved him a lot of pain and discomfort. Happily, now that he has gotten the correct diagnosis and treatment our dog is much happier and healthier."
"Very knowledge staff members. She gave us info on what to do for my dog. Told her what my dog was going thru. She recommend a visit to the vet and gave me a sample of medicine. Also pet insurance pamphlets."
"Was in a rush because I was worried about my baby 2 months, he gets bad stomach cramps sometimes and I was so scared. But Nicole came to the rescue and helped me out so much and the process was fast along with prices. I have never went to another veterinarian office beside shadow ridge since. So Nicole if you read this thank you and shadow ridge staff"
"All the doctors and staff take such good care of our family. I say family because it's not just about treating our fur babies, but also keeping us very informed on their care and also calming our nerves and making sure that we are satisfied with the care they are getting from Shadowridge."
"Many of our pets have been treated here. They always get us in. They take great care of our first babies. This Christmas we had to put out 16 year old Handsome boy to sleep. He was the best kitty ever. They treated him and us so good thri out the process. My heart felt like it was breaking and they allowed us the time we needed to say goodbye. Today I picked up his ashes that were in a beautiful box all labeled with his name, but also received his death certificate, a lock of his hair, an imprint of his paw. It was totally unexpected."
